What are the duties of high school students in Vietnam?
According to Article 34 of the Charter of Secondary Schools, High Schools, and Multi-level Schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, high school students have the following duties:
- Comply with learning and training tasks according to the school's educational program and plan.
- Show respect for parents, staff, teachers, school personnel, and elders; unite and help each other in learning and training; comply with the school rules and regulations; abide by the laws of the State.
- Train physically, maintain personal hygiene.
- Participate in collective activities of the school, the class, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; assist the family, participate in labor and social activities, environmental protection activities, and implement traffic safety orders.
- Preserve and protect school property and public places; contribute to building, protecting, and promoting the school’s traditions.
How Many Times Can a High School Student in Vietnam Repeat a Grade?
According to Clause 3, Article 35 of the Charter of Secondary Schools, High Schools, and Multi-level Schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT:
Age of Students in Secondary Schools
The age for students entering grade 6 is 11 years old. The age for students entering grade 10 is 15 years old. For students who have skipped a grade in the previous level or entered school at an older age, the age for entering grade 6 and grade 10 can be adjusted accordingly based on the age of completion of the previous level.
Ethnic minority students, students with disabilities, students in specially difficult circumstances, and returning students from abroad can enter school at an age up to 3 years older than the stipulated age.
