Below are 03 sample essays on a memorable experience for review for the first-semester exam in 6th-grade Literature:

Sample 1: Narrative Chronologically

A Sentimental Visit to the Paternal Hometown

Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit my paternal hometown in Central Vietnam, a place my parents often described as filled with countless childhood memories. On the nearly ten-hour bus ride, I imagined many things about the small village where my grandparents live.

When the bus stopped, the vast green fields stretched before my eyes, leaving me amazed. My grandparents' house nestled by the riverbank, its roof showing the colors of time. During my days in the countryside, I experienced a simple yet full life: catching fish in the pond, climbing trees to pick guavas, or simply savoring a cup of afternoon tea with my grandparents.

The most memorable moment was the morning I followed my grandfather to the fields to harvest rice. Under the scorching sun, he showed me how to use the sickle to cut the ripe golden rice stalks. Though my hands were tired, I still felt joy in experiencing rural work, understanding the value of each grain of rice.

On the day I left the countryside, my heart was filled with nostalgia. That trip helped me grow closer to my family and cherish the simple things in life.

Sample 2: Narrative with Emotion Integration

Dreamy Exploration Trip to Da Lat

Da Lat – the city of mist, flowers, and winding roads. That trip left an unforgettable memory in the diary of my youth.

I still remember the moment I first set foot in this highland city, the slight chill touching every cell of my skin, providing a sensation both unfamiliar and pleasant. On the first morning, my group of friends woke up early to climb Thien Phuc Duc Hill and catch the sunrise. As the sun slowly peeked out, the entire space seemed to light up, so beautiful that I was left speechless.

Each place in Da Lat brought a different emotion: the tranquility by Xuan Huong Lake, the ancient aura of Da Lat railway station, and the excitement when wandering through endless flower fields. But what I remember most was the night camping in the pine forest. The group gathered around the fire, singing and sharing stories. In that space, I felt more deeply the friendship, sharing, and the value of fleeting but meaningful moments.

The trip was not just a journey to explore beautiful landscapes but also a journey to discover myself.

Sample 3: Narrative from a Creative Perspective (Personification)

Diary of a Hill

I am a small hill in Sa Pa, and this time, I want to tell you about the loveliest visitors ever – a small family from the city.

That morning, I woke up as the first rays of sunshine touched me. Suddenly, I sensed bustling footsteps. It was them! A little boy was running around, touching the grass on my surface. The mother giggled seeing her son's delight, while the father captured every moment with his camera.

What touched me most was at sunset. They sat together, spreading a small cloth and watching the sun slowly disappear behind the mountain ranges. The boy exclaimed, "It's so beautiful! I want to stay here forever!" That statement made me proud of bringing them joy and peace.

When they left, I could still hear their laughter echoing through the air. Though I knew they wouldn’t stay forever, I still hope for the day they return and continue weaving new stories upon me.
