The assessment activities must encourage students' enthusiasm for learning, exploring, and discovering historical issues; help students gain confidence and proactive creativity in learning.
The assessment content should focus on the ability to creatively apply learned historical knowledge in specific situations, not concentrating on testing the capability of reproducing historical knowledge, memorization, and rote learning.
Through assessment, teachers can determine students' learning situations, and diverse levels of academic ability in the class, from which measures can be taken to assist students who do not meet the requirements regarding knowledge and competencies, identify and nurture students with a talent for history, while also adjusting and perfecting teaching methods in History.
