Is it necessary to bring books and notebooks on the first day of school in Vietnam?

Currently, there is no regulation regarding whether students need to bring books and notebooks on the first day of school. This is a matter that students will learn from observing previous school years.

Typically, on the first day of school, students and teachers will meet, get to know each other, and set up preparatory tasks for the class and school for the upcoming academic year. Therefore, on the first day of school, students do not need to bring a full set of books and notebooks as on a regular school day.

However, students can prepare just in case by bringing some books, notebooks, pens, etc., to use if needed.

Is it true that there are only 10 days left until the back-to-school day in Vietnam?

Based on Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT of 2024 regarding the framework plan for the 2024 - 2025 academic year for preschool education, general education, and continuing education, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on August 1, 2024:

- Students will start school at the earliest one week before the commencement ceremony. For first grade students in particular, the earliest start date is two weeks before the commencement ceremony.

- The commencement ceremony will be held on September 5, 2024.

Therefore, for first-grade students, the earliest start date is two weeks before the commencement ceremony.
