What are the duties of first-grade students in Vietnam?

Based on Article 34 of the Primary School Regulations issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, which stipulates the duties of primary school students in Vietnam as follows:

- Study and train according to the educational plan and school regulations; have a self-conscious attitude towards studying and training to develop comprehensively the qualities and abilities according to the goals of the primary school education program.

- Fulfill study tasks effectively; know how to study independently under the guidance of teachers; actively and proactively participate in experiential activities, applying learned knowledge to real life; exercise, maintain personal hygiene.

The basic education phase includes primary and lower secondary education; the career-oriented education phase is upper secondary education. Students in vocational education institutions can study general upper secondary knowledge.

Therefore, generally according to legal regulations, children will start first grade at 6 years old. However, students can enroll early if they have advanced intellectual development.
