How much is the salary of a practical vocational education lecturer in Vietnam from July 1, 2024?

Pursuant to Article 14 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, the provisions are as follows:

Salary classification for public employees in the vocational education sector

Public employees classified in the vocational education sector titles prescribed in this Circular are applied the corresponding salary tables issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004 of the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials and public employees and armed forces. Specifically:

1. Senior vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.01, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A3 group 1 (A3.1) from salary coefficient 6.20 to salary coefficient 8.00.

2. Principal vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.02, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A2 group 1 (A2.1) from salary coefficient 4.40 to salary coefficient 6.78.

3. Theoretical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.03, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A1 from salary coefficient 2.34 to salary coefficient 4.98.

4. Practical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.04, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A0 from salary coefficient 2.10 to salary coefficient 4.89.

5. Senior vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.05, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A3 group 2 (A3.2), from salary coefficient 5.75 to salary coefficient 7.55.

6. Principal vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.06, applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A2 group 1 (A2.1) from salary coefficient 4.40 to salary coefficient 6.78.

Thus, a practical vocational education lecturer is applied with the salary coefficient of public employee category A0 from salary coefficient 2.10 to salary coefficient 4.89.

Pursuant to Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV, the salary of official public employees is calculated as follows:

Salary = Statutory pay rate × Salary coefficient

At the same time, according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP when increasing the statutory pay rate to VND 2,340,000/month, the salary calculation from July 1, 2024, is as follows:

Salary = VND 2,340,000 × Salary coefficient

Thus, the salary of a practical vocational education lecturer can currently range from VND 4,914,000/month to VND 11,442,600/month.

Vietnam: How many tasks must a practical vocational education lecturer perform?

According to Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, a practical vocational education lecturer must perform 05 tasks including:

- Teaching practical classes at the college and intermediate levels; teaching at the primary level; evaluating the study results and graduation exam results of students;

- Participating in professional and vocational activities in the department, faculty, vocational education institution; applying scientific and technical advances or initiatives, technical improvements in teaching and vocational practice;

- Participating in compiling textbooks, teaching materials; providing feedback on the development of programs, content of modules, and subjects assigned to teach; designing and setting up specialized classrooms; designing, improving, and self-making educational and vocational equipment;

- Studying, standardization training, advanced training; interning at enterprises or professional bodies; observing class sessions, exchanging teaching experiences; participating in training for teachers and lecturers according to the professional development requirements of the department, faculty, or vocational education institution;

- Guiding students in project work, thesis; guiding practical, production labor integrated internships; training students for participation in skill competitions at all levels.
