How many entries can each province in Vietnam register for the scientific research competition for upper secondary students?
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 5 of the Regulation on the National Science and Technology Research Contest for Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary School Students issued together with Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT, the competing units, the number of projects, contestants, and advisors are as follows:

- Number of projects
a) For competing units that are Departments of Education and Training, each unit can register a maximum of 03 (three) projects. Particularly, the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi and the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, each unit can register a maximum of 06 (six) projects;
b) For competing units that are schools under the Ministry, universities, university branches, institutes, academies, each unit can register a maximum of 02 (two) projects;
c) The unit hosting the Competition can register a maximum of 06 (six) projects. Particularly, if the hosting unit is the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi or the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, each unit can register a maximum of 12 (twelve) projects.
Thus, each province in Vietnam can register up to 03 projects for the national scientific research competition for upper secondary students. Particularly, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, each can register up to 06 (six) projects for the competition.
For the province hosting the national scientific research competition for upper secondary students, they can register up to 06 (six) projects, while Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City can register up to 12 (twelve) projects if they are the hosting unit.

Who is not allowed to participate in organizing the national scientific research competition for upper secondary students in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 11 of the Regulation on the National Science and Technology Research Contest for Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary School Students issued together with Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT, the standards for participants in organizing the Competition as follows:
Standards for participants in organizing the Competition
Members of the Steering Committee, Appraisal Council of contest submissions, Judges Committee, and Organizing Committee of the Competition are participants in organizing the Competition.
Participants in organizing the Competition must meet the following standards:
a) Have good moral character and high sense of responsibility;
b) Have suitable professional competence and experience to meet the requirements and tasks of the Competition.
c) Do not have a spouse, children, or siblings (including those related through marriage) or step-children participating in the Competition in the year of the Contest's organization;
d) Are not advisors or directly teaching the contestants;
dd) Are not under disciplinary review or criminal investigation.
Therefore, the following individuals are not allowed to participate in organizing the national scientific research competition for upper secondary students:
- Those lacking good moral character and high sense of responsibility;
- Those lacking suitable professional competence and experience to meet the requirements and tasks of the Competition;
- Those who have a spouse, children, siblings (including those related by marriage), or step-children participating in the Competition in the year of the Contest;
- Advisors or those directly teaching the contestants;
- Those under disciplinary review or criminal investigation.
What requirements for projects in the national scientific research competition for upper secondary students in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 4 of the Regulation on the National Science and Technology Research Contest for Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary School Students issued together with Circular 06/2024/TT-BGDDT, projects must meet the following requirements:
- Ensure honesty in scientific research; no fraud, illegal copying, forgery; not using or presenting other people's content and research results as their own.
- The research duration of the project should not exceed 12 consecutive months and must fall within the period from January of the year preceding the Competition to 30 days before the opening of the Competition.
- Group projects are not allowed to change members once the project has started. The project results must clearly reflect each member's contribution.
- Research projects on pathogens, hazardous chemicals, or substances harmful to the environment are not permitted in the Competition.
- The project must be approved and evaluated by the educational institution where the students are studying and selected by the participating unit.
- The project must meet the display requirements as stipulated by the Steering Committee of the Competition.
