How long is the duration of refreshing for informatic and technology teachers in primary schools in Vietnam?
Based on Section 6 of the refreshing program for informatics and technology teachers in primary schools issued together with Decision 2453/QD-BGDDT in 2021, the regulations are as follows:
IMPLEMENTATION ORGANIZATION
6.1. Refreshing Form
Accumulating credits, continuous concentrated study, or concurrent study while working.
6.2. Refreshing Duration: 02 months
6.3. Teaching
- Lecturers from educational institutions such as teacher refreshing universities or universities with faculties of education that train in Informatics Education or Technology Education.
- Lecturers with a professional background in Information Technology, Electrical - Electronic Technology, Crop Technology; experienced in refreshing; and capable of imparting knowledge and skills.
- Lecturers participating in teaching need to study materials and frequently update new knowledge and practical situations to equip students with the competencies, knowledge, and skills as per the set goals.
6.4. Teaching - Learning Requirements
- The refreshing program includes many contents that require combining theory with practice. Therefore, teaching - learning activities must ensure a combination of theory and practice; between knowledge, experience, and practical skills.
- Enhance the application of positive pedagogical methods focusing on solving issues in teaching Informatics and Technology, enabling students to self-study and self-train after completing the course.
6.5. Refreshing Locations
At Pedagogical Universities, universities with pedagogical faculties, or Pedagogical Colleges with adequate facilities, practical rooms, and laboratories serving teaching - learning needs.
6.6. Refreshing Funding
- From the state budget allocated for routine refreshing of the sector and localities;
- From the funding of units dispatching individuals for refreshing;
- By the trainees themselves.
The refreshing duration for Informatics informatics and technology teachers in primary schools is 2 months, in the form of continuous concentrated study or concurrent study while working.

What are 03 knowledge blocks of the refreshing program for informatics and technology teachers in Vietnam?
Based on Section 3 of the refreshing program for informatics and technology teachers in primary schools issued together with Decision 2453/QD-BGDDT in 2021, the 03 knowledge blocks of the refreshing program for informatics and technology teachers are as follows:
- Knowledge Block 1 (1 credit): Introduction to the Informatics and Technology subject program, Informatics capability model, technology, and the required competencies for primary levels, knowledge and skills that need to be trained for Informatics informatics and technology teachers in primary schools.
- Knowledge Block 2 (16, 20, 24 credits): provides foundational knowledge, practical skills in Informatics and Technology; focuses on specific knowledge and skills related to Informatics and Technology content in the primary school curriculum.
This block also specifies the cognitive difficulties faced by students when learning foundational knowledge and solutions to help them comprehend this knowledge to develop competencies.
- Knowledge Block 3 (3 credits): provides principles, methods, tools, forms of teaching, and assessment of competencies in teaching Informatics and Technology.
Utilize basic theoretical arguments in developing teaching plans/lesson plans and teaching in the Informatics and Technology program in primary schools.
What is the minimum knowledge volume for each type of informatics and technology teachers in primary schools in Vietnam?
Based on Section 2 of the refreshing program for informatics and technology teachers in primary schools issued together with Decision 2453/QD-BGDDT in 2021, the regulations are as follows:
refreshing TARGETS
- Target 1: Teachers currently teaching Informatics in primary schools, who have an Informatics degree (Intermediate level or higher) or a double degree with one being in Informatics.
- Target 2: Teachers currently teaching Informatics in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree.
- Target 3: Teachers who will teach Informatics and Technology in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree, Pedagogical Technical degree, or Pedagogical Technology degree.
- Target 4: Teachers who will teach Informatics and Technology in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree, but have a Pedagogical Technical degree or Pedagogical Technology degree.
3. refreshing program
3.1. Minimum total knowledge volume for each type:
- Target 1: 01 + 04 + 12 + 03 = 20 credits.
- Target 2: 01 + 08 + 12 + 03 = 24 credits.
- Target 3: 01 + 12 + 12 + 03 = 28 credits.
- Target 4: 01 + 12 + 04 + 03 = 20 credits.

- Target 1: teachers currently teaching Informatics in primary schools, who have an Informatics degree (Intermediate level or higher) or a double degree with one being in Informatics: 20 credits
- Target 2: teachers currently teaching Informatics in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree: 24 credits
- Target 3: teachers who will teach Informatics and Technology in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree, Pedagogical Technical degree, or Pedagogical Technology degree: 28 credits
- Target 4: teachers who will teach Informatics and Technology in primary schools, who do not have an Informatics degree, but have a Pedagogical Technical degree or Pedagogical Technology degree: 20 credits
