I remember clearly when my mother first bought it, how sad it looked! It wouldn't even bother picking up a passing worm or catching a grasshopper. But as time passed, its homesickness gradually faded. Now, it has become a handsome, strong young cock, like a “wrestler in the ring,” or a “supermodel.” Its dazzlingly red comb gleams like a king’s crown. Its beautiful coat, interspersed with vibrant colors, is like an ancient princess's gown. Its strong, firm legs, equipped with sharp spurs near its toes, are its most feared weapons when fighting adversaries. Its sharp, sturdy beak can strike opponents. Its curved tail feathers resemble the “ponytails” of girls. At this moment, it looks so robust! It's thanks to this strength that its courtship skills are excellent. Any hen paired with it is absolutely safe. Hence, it has many “rivals in love.” Many but none dare touch him. He has become the hero of the entire neighborhood.

I cherish him dearly! Not only because of his appearance but also because he is my pride among friends. He is also very useful – his crow always wakes everyone on time for a new working day. He is like that! Diligent, steady, and truly commendable.

Last Saturday, my classmates and I were taken by our teacher to the zoo. I was thrilled to see so many animals. Among them, the animal I adored the most was the tiger.

The tiger is very large and has a beautifully striped orange coat. It has two small ears on its head, round eyes like green marbles, white sharp teeth, which look terrifying when baring them, but it only bares its teeth fiercely when threatening its opponent and when hunting. The tiger has four legs with very sharp claws, which allow it to run very fast when hunting prey and use its claws to attack.

My impression of the tiger is that it is a fierce and frightening creature. Whenever I watch Animal Planet and see the tiger stalking prey, I get scared and do not like tigers because they appear aggressive, but when we went to the zoo, the tiger looked very gentle and docile, just lying under the shade lazily, while another slowly paced around its enclosure, its stride dignified and majestic like the king of the jungle; it looked at us, but wasn't as scary as I thought.

At first, I was too frightened to get close to the tiger cage, fearing it might jump out, but seeing how it obediently paced inside rather than behaving as savagely as on TV, I felt more at ease, approaching closer to observe better. The tigers were very friendly, didn’t try to escape, nor did they attack each other; even when zookeepers fed them, they quietly ate, each in their own corner, not fighting over food.

Although I am still apprehensive of fierce tigers, this zoo visit made me less afraid, finding them quite charming and harmonious. My friends and I had a great time, with many also feeling the tigers weren't as frightful as initially thought. If given another chance, I'd love to go to the zoo again to visit those delightful tigers.

(1) Reading comprehension of content

- Recognize certain details and the main content of the text; based on hints, comprehend what the author intends to convey through the text.

- Summarize a simple story.

- Recognize the theme of a text.

(2) Reading comprehension of form

- Recognize the characteristics of characters expressed through appearance, gestures, actions, and dialogue.

- Recognize the sequence of events in a story according to causal relationships.

- Recognize the relationship between characters expressed through the way they address each other.

- Recognize imagery in poetry, dialogue in drama texts.

- Understand the effects of the personification literary device.

(3) Connection, Comparison, Linking

- Express personal feelings and thoughts after reading the text.

- Mention a story, article, or poem liked best and explain why.

- Describe how one would behave if encountering situations similar to those of characters in the work.

(4) Extensive reading

- During one academic year, read at least 35 literary texts (including guided texts read on the Internet) with genres and lengths equivalent to the texts studied.
