What is the age of grade 8 students in Vietnam?
Based on the provisions of Article 28 of the Education Law 2019:
Levels of Education and Age of General Education
1. The levels of education and age of general education are regulated as follows:
a) Primary education is conducted over 05 years, from Grade 1 to the end of Grade 5. The age for starting Grade 1 is 06 years and is counted by year;
b) Lower secondary education is conducted over 04 years, from Grade 6 to the end of Grade 9. Students entering Grade 6 must have completed the primary education program. The age for starting Grade 6 is 11 years and is counted by year;
c) Upper secondary education is conducted over 03 years, from Grade 10 to the end of Grade 12. Students entering Grade 10 must have a lower secondary school diploma. The age for starting Grade 10 is 15 years and is counted by year.

Note: Except for cases of students repeating a grade or starting school earlier/later than the prescribed age.
