(2) Noun phrase

A noun phrase is a group of words that functions as a noun in a sentence. It includes a main noun and other accompanying words to supplement the meaning of the main noun.

Structure of a noun phrase:

Main noun: The most important word, determining the type of the phrase.

Supplementary words: Including adjectives, nouns, prepositional phrases, relative clauses... These words add more information to the main noun, making the meaning of the noun phrase more specific and clear.

Illustrative examples:

Smart boy: (boy is the main noun, smart is the adjective providing detail)

English textbook: (textbook is the main noun, English is the noun phrase providing detail)

Furry dog: (dog is the main noun, furry is the noun phrase providing detail)

- In a sentence, noun phrases often function as:

Subject: The smart boy always scores high.

What is the latest general education program for Literature?

According to the provisions of Article 2 of Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT:

The general education program is implemented according to the following schedule:

1. From the school year 2020-2021 for grade 1.

2. From the school year 2021-2022 for grades 2 and 6.

3. From the school year 2022-2023 for grades 3, 7, and 10.

4. From the school year 2023-2024 for grades 4, 8, and 11.

5. From the school year 2024-2025 for grades 5, 9, and 12.

What are the skill requirements for reading, writing, speaking, and listening for students in Vietnam according to the General education program for Literature?

According to Section 5 of the General education program for Literature issued along with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the skill requirements for reading, writing, speaking, and listening for students according to the General education program for Literature are as follows:

(1) Skill requirements for reading

- Reading techniques: include requirements on reading posture, vocal reading skills, silent reading skills, skimming skills, note-taking while reading, etc.

- Reading comprehension: the reading subjects include literary texts, argumentative texts, informational texts. Reading comprehension for each type of text and genre generally includes the following requirements:

+ Comprehending the content of the text through details, topics, themes, ideas, messages, etc.;

+ Understanding the form of expression through the characteristics of text types and genres, components of each text type and genre (story, plot, narrative, character, setting, time, narrator, viewpoint, rhyme, verse rhythm, arguments, evidence, etc.), expressive language...;

+ Relating, comparing texts, connecting texts with historical, cultural, social contexts, connecting texts with personal experiences of the reader; understanding multimodal texts...;

+ Extensive reading, memorizing some selected passages or literary texts.

(2) Skill requirements for writing

- Writing techniques: include requirements on writing posture, handwriting and spelling skills, layout skills, etc.

- Writing sentences, paragraphs, texts: include requirements on the process of creating texts and practical writing according to the characteristics of text types.

(3) Skill requirements for speaking and listening

- Speaking skills: include requirements on volume, speed, continuity, expression methods, presentation, attitude, combination of gestures, body language, supporting means while speaking, etc.

- Listening skills: include requirements on listening methods, note-taking, question-answering, attitude, combining gestures, body language while listening, listening via technical devices, etc.

- Interactive speaking and listening skills: include requirements on attitudes, respect for conversational principles, and rules in discussions, interviews, etc.
