Cases for Organizing Fireworks
- Lunar New Year
a) Centrally-affiliated cities and Thua Thien Hue province are allowed to launch high-range and low-range fireworks, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes; other provinces are allowed to launch low-range fireworks, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes;
b) The time for launching is at the transition to the Lunar New Year.
According to the above regulation, the time for the 2025 Tet holiday fireworks display is at midnight, i.e., at 00:00 on January 29, 2025 (Gregorian calendar), and the maximum duration of the fireworks display is 15 minutes. Thus, fireworks will be launched from 00:00 – 00:15 on Lunar New Year's Eve of the Year of the Snake (2025 Tet holiday).

Are fireworks subject to environmental protection tax in Vietnam?
Based on Article 3 of the Environmental Protection Tax Law 2010 defining taxable objects for environmental protection as follows:
Taxable objects
- Petroleum, oil, and lubricants, including:
a) Gasoline, excluding ethanol;
b) Jet fuel;
c) Diesel oil;
d) Kerosene;
e) Mazut oil;
f) Lubricating oil;
g) Lubricating grease.
- Coal, including:
a) Brown coal;
b) Anthracite coal (antraxit);
c) Fat coal;
d) Other types of coal.
- Hydro-chloro-fluoro-carbon solution (HCFC).
- Plastic bags subject to tax.
- Herbicides subject to restricted use.
- Termiticide subject to restricted use.
- Forest product preservatives subject to restricted use.
- Fumigation chemicals subject to restricted use.
- In case it is deemed necessary to add another taxable object suitable for each period, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly shall consider and stipulate.
The Government of Vietnam stipulates the details of this Article.
From the above regulations, it can be seen that fireworks are not subject to the environmental protection tax.
