According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Station, during the Western New Year 2025, the general weather pattern in the South is affected by weak cold air moving eastward and disturbances in the easterly wind belt affecting the Southern provinces. In the higher atmosphere, the subtropical ridge expands westward.

To be specific, Ho Chi Minh City will experience variable to mostly cloudy skies, light fog in the early morning, decreasing clouds and sunshine during the day, no rain at night. Temperatures will range from 23-25°C, and 29-31°C during the day.

How many days off for Ho Chi Minh City's tax officials in the Lunar New Year 2025?

The Office of the Government of Vietnam has issued Official Dispatch 8726/VPCP-KGVX of 2024 conveying the Prime Minister of Vietnam's directive on the Lunar New Year holiday and several other public holidays in 2025.

The Prime Minister has agreed with the proposal from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs regarding the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for officials, public employees, and civil servants as follows:

- For the Lunar New Year 2025, officials and public employees will have a continuous 9-day holiday, including 5 Tet days and 4 regular weekend days.

- Specifically, officials and public employees, and workers will have a 5-day Lunar New Year break from Monday, January 27, 2025, to Friday, January 31, 2025 (from the 28th of the lunar December, Year of the Dragon to the 3rd of the lunar January, Year of the Snake).

- However, in 2025, all 5 days of the Lunar New Year holiday fall on weekdays, so workers will have an additional 2 weekend days before and 2 days after the Tet holiday.

Agencies and units are to arrange and organize duty assignments according to regulations and work sensibly to continuously handle work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people. Attention should be given to assign officials on duty to handle any sudden or unexpected situations that may occur during the Tet and public holiday period as per regulations.

Ministries, agencies, and local authorities should have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to actively and proactively conduct production, business, economic, and social activities. Ensuring stability in the supply and demand of goods, services, prices, and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, combating waste, and striving to successfully implement the objectives and tasks of the 2025 plan, a year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, creating a solid foundation for fast and sustainable development in the coming period.

Thus, Ho Chi Minh City's tax officials will have a total of 9 days off for the Lunar New Year 2025. Starting from January 25, 2025 (26th of the lunar December) to February 2, 2025 (5th of the lunar January).
