The Government Office of Vietnam has issued Official Dispatch 8726/VPCP-KGVX in 2024 conveying the directives of the Prime Minister regarding the Lunar New Year holiday and certain public holidays in 2025.

The Prime Minister has agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs regarding the 2025 Tet holiday holidays for officials and public employees as follows:

- Specifically, officials and public employees, as well as workers, will be off for the Lunar New Year for 5 days, from Monday, January 27, 2025, to Friday, January 31, 2025 (corresponding to the 28th of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon to the 3rd day of the New Year of the Snake).

- However, because in 2025 all 5 days of the Lunar New Year holiday fall on weekdays, workers will have an additional break of 2 weekend days before and 2 days after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Therefore, for 2025 Tet holiday, officials will have a total of 9 days off. Starting from January 25, 2025 (the 26th of the 12th lunar month) to February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the lunar New Year).
