What are the current duties of CPV members?
According to Article 2 of the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the four duties of a CPV member are as follows:
- Be absolutely loyal to the revolutionary ideals of the Communist Party of Vietnam, strictly observe the Political Platform, Party Charter, resolutions, directives of the Party, and laws of the State; complete assigned tasks well; absolutely obey assignments and mobilizations from the Party.
- Continuously study and practice to improve knowledge levels, work capacity, political qualities, revolutionary ethics, and maintain a healthy lifestyle; fight against individualism, opportunism, regionalism, bureaucratism, corruption, waste, and other negative manifestations.
Adhere to the Central Committee's regulations on things that CPV members are not allowed to do.
- Closely associate with the people, respect, and promote the people's right to mastery; take care of the material and spiritual life and protect the legitimate interests of the people; actively participate in mass and social work at work and place of residence;
Propagate and mobilize families and people to implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State.
- Participate in building and protecting the Party's line, policies, and organization; obey Party discipline, maintain unity within the Party; regularly engage in self-criticism and criticism, be honest with the Party; engage in CPV membership development work; attend party activities and pay party dues conformably.
What is the CPV membership fee for 2025?
According to Section 1 Part B of the Regulation on party fee policies issued with Decision 342/QD-TW in 2010, there is a regulation on the subjects and monthly party fee rates. Specifically:
Monthly income of CPV members to calculate the party fee includes wages, some allowances; wages; living expenses; other income. CPV members with identifiable regular income pay party fees at a (%) rate of monthly income (not deducted from personal income tax); CPV members who have difficulty determining income have a specific monthly rate set for each type of subject.

CPV members with particularly difficult circumstances | If they submit a request for exemption or reduction of party fees, the cell examines and reports to the base party committee for decision. |
Note: It is encouraged for CPV members in all the above categories to voluntarily pay higher party fees than the stipulated rates, but the branch committee must agree.
