Pursuant to Article 4 of the Regulations on the management and use of uniforms and cards of the Tax sector issued together with Decision 1054/QD-TCT in 2021:
Regulations on the use of tax uniforms for tax officials
- Tax officials must wear tax uniforms at least 2 days a week, which are Mondays and Thursdays. It is encouraged to wear tax uniforms on all working days of the week.
- In cases where tax officials are assigned to tasks that require frequent direct contact with taxpayers at tax offices or at the taxpayer's premises, they must wear the tax uniform accordingly.
- Tax officials attending summary conferences, training sessions, or specialized reports of the unit or the Tax sector must wear tax uniforms or ceremonial tax uniforms (when required) accordingly. Depending on the nature of the work, the unit head shall specify and state clearly on the invitation or summons documents for the officials to ensure solemnity and compliance with the agency’s rules and regulations.

How long is the lifespan of a tax uniform for tax officials in Vietnam?
Based on Article 5 of the Regulations on the management and use of uniforms and cards of the Tax sector issued together with Decision 1054/QD-TCT in 2021, the lifespan of tax uniforms is regulated as follows:
- The duration of wearing spring-summer and autumn-winter uniforms is as follows:
+ Spring-summer uniforms: from April to the end of October each year.
+ Autumn-winter uniforms: from November of the previous year to the end of March of the following year.
- Based on the working environment temperature and weather at each unit, the unit head adjusts the unified usage duration for spring-summer and autumn-winter uniforms: if the temperature of the weather or working environment is below 20°C, officials and public employees, laborers wear autumn-winter uniforms, if the temperature is 20°C or higher, they wear spring-summer uniforms. However, when gathering activities take place, they must wear the type of uniform decided by the unit head.

Officials wearing spring-summer uniforms must tuck in their shirts, women wear skirts; when wearing uniforms, they should not cover their face with scarves, wear gloves, or masks (except if provided for duty or recommended by competent authorities), and should not use accessories or other jewelry that alters or affects the structure of the tax uniform, causing discomfort or contravening Vietnamese customs and cultural traditions.
- It is strictly forbidden to write, draw on the uniform; modify, alter the design, color, and material of the uniform.
- It is strictly forbidden for officials to use the badges, insignia, uniforms, and nameplates of tax sector officials and public employees for personal purposes. Tax uniforms should not be worn when not on duty.
