Our country will celebrate Tet At Ty in 2025, which coincides with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party. The entire nation is focused on accelerating and making breakthroughs to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party and the resolutions of party congresses at all levels, while also preparing to organize party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term leading up to the 14th Congress of the Communist Party, ushering the country into a new era. To best prepare conditions for the people to enjoy a safe, healthy, economical Gregorian New Year, creating new momentum and motivation to successfully carry out the tasks of 2025 right from the beginning of the year, the Secretariat requests party committees, party organizations, governments, the Fatherland Front, and political-social organizations at all levels to focus on leading, directing, and organizing to implement well some key tasks as follows:
(1) Strengthen unity within the Communist Party and great national solidarity, promoting the tradition of "mutual love and support," pushing forward the implementation of poverty reduction programs, elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; effectively implement social security and welfare policies, taking care of the material and spiritual life of the people, especially those in difficult circumstances, poor households, residents in areas affected by natural disasters, epidemics, remote areas, border regions, islands, ethnic minority areas, workers, people who have lost their jobs... ensuring that every home and person has the means to enjoy and celebrate Tet.
Organize well visits, encouragement, and Tet greetings to veteran revolutionaries, Vietnamese heroic mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, intellectuals, artists, reputable persons among ethnic minorities, outstanding religious dignitaries, armed forces units, regular forces on duty during Tet, in border areas, islands, and areas facing complex political security, order and social safety challenges.
(2) Strictly manage and organize festivals as prescribed, ensuring all spring celebration activities, traditional day commemorations, year-end reviews, Gregorian New Year gatherings, tree planting festivals... are practical, safe, economical, avoiding ostentation, formalism, and wastefulness, suitable with the cultural lifestyle, traditions, customs, and good habits of the nation.
Localities should decide on organizing fireworks for Gregorian New Year celebrations based on their capacity, conditions, and practical situations, ensuring safety, economy, and creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the people.
(3) Intensify efforts to prevent and combat wastefulness and negativity; refrain from organizing visits and Tet greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels; do not organize central delegations to visit or greet Tet with local party committees and government; strictly prohibit presenting or gifting Tet gifts to leaders in any form; refrain from participating in superstitious activities; leaders at all levels may only attend temple or festival ceremonies when assigned (except participating in a personal capacity); do not use state budget, vehicles, or public assets contrary to regulations for participating in festivals and amusement activities... Strictly comply with regulations on revolutionary moral standards; the responsibility to set an example of cadres, party members, and the do's and don'ts for party members, especially those regarding not driving vehicles after consuming alcohol.
(4) Strengthen national defense and security, prevent being caught off guard in any situation, firmly protect independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the nation, maintain a peaceful environment, safeguard political security, order, and social safety, and ensure cybersecurity. Absolutely protect important targets, key projects, political, foreign, cultural, and social events in the country.
Boost prevention, combat, and stringent handling of crime, law violations, and social evils. Implement comprehensive solutions for strict monitoring and market management, price stability, balancing the supply and demand of goods and services; ensure food safety, environmental hygiene, disease prevention; and focus on urban beautification, brightening, greening, cleaning, and beautifying residential areas. Prepare plans to ensure transportation means for goods conveyance and facilitate the return of citizens and overseas compatriots to their homeland for Tet celebrations.
Intensify guidance, patrolling, and control to ensure traffic order and safety, and prevent fires and explosions. Strictly adhere to regulations on fireworks management, preventing illegal fireworks use from becoming complex during Tet.
(5) Effectively organize activities to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party in conjunction with Tet celebrations, creating a joyous, enthusiastic, confident, and proud atmosphere in society. The Central Propaganda Department is tasked to collaborate with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and related agencies to direct, guide and enhance the propaganda of the country’s achievements, potential, position, and prestige after 95 years under the leadership of the Communist Party. Properly organize cultural, sports, and festival events during Tet; raise the awareness and sense of responsibility of the people in adhering to regulations on traffic safety, fire and explosion prevention, food safety, environmental hygiene, natural disaster and disease prevention; proactively counter false information and promote effective propaganda to protect the Party, State, and People against destructive schemes by hostile forces.
(6) Party committees, party organizations, governments, and the Fatherland Front should promptly complete the annual review of 2024 in December 2024, submitting reports to the Central Office of the Communist Party by January 10, 2025. Each agency and unit needs to recheck work tasks before the Tet holidays to avoid delays. Arrange for staff on duty during Tet to promptly handle arising tasks, ensure that business, organizations, and individuals' rights are upheld; adhere strictly to communication and reporting policies during the Tet holidays.
Agencies and organizations must ensure a return to normal work immediately after the Tet holidays, focusing on decisive and synchronous implementation of work tasks for 2025 right from the beginning of the year, especially ensuring the timely review of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, streamlining the organizational structure of the political system for effective, efficient operation; accelerate and make breakthroughs to successfully achieve the socio-economic goals and tasks for 2025 and the entire XIII Congress term, laying a strong foundation for the country to step into a new era of prosperity, civilization, and happiness.
The Central Office of the Communist Party is assigned to coordinate with relevant agencies to track implementation and report results to the Secretariat.

How many days off are tax officials entitled to for the 2025 Tet holiday in Vietnam?
Recently, the Office of the Government of Vietnam released Official Dispatch 8726/VPCP-KGVX in 2024 conveying the Prime Minister's directive on the Lunar Gregorian New Year and some holiday breaks in 2025.
The Prime Minister agreed on the proposal by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs regarding the Lunar Gregorian New Year holidays for officials, officers, and public employees as follows:
- For Tet Nguyên đán in 2025, officials and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off, including 5 Tet holidays and 4 regular days off.
- To be specific:, officials and public employees, as well as workers, will have 5 days off for Tet Nguyên đán, from Monday, January 27, 2025, to Friday, January 31, 2025 (equivalent to the 28th of the last lunar month of the previous year to the 3rd lunar day of the Year of the At Ty).
- However, because in 2025 all 5 Tet holidays fall on weekdays, workers will have an additional 2 days off over the weekend before and 2 days off after the Tet holidays.
Agencies and units need to arrange and schedule sections to be on duty per regulations and work reasonably to manage work continuously, ensuring good service activities for organizations and the people, paying special attention to deploying officials to promptly address unexpected, sudden tasks that may arise during Tet and other holiday breaks as regulated.
Ministries, agencies, and localities should have specific, appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, businesses, organizations, and individuals to proactively and actively carry out business, economic, and social activities, ensuring the stability of goods and services supply and demand, prices, and the market, contributing to promoting business operations and economic growth, practicing thrift and combating waste, striving to achieve the plan's objectives and tasks for 2025, the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 2021-2025 five-year plan, creating a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the future.
Thus, tax officials are getting a total of 9 days off for the 2025 Tet holiday, starting from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (from the 26th of the last lunar month to the end of the 5th of the first lunar month).
How many days off are Ho Chi Minh City tax officials entitled to for Gregorian New Year 2025?
On December 10, 2024, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Announcement 519/TB-UBND about raising the national flag and Gregorian New Year holidays 2025.
To be specific:, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City announced the national flag raising and Gregorian New Year holiday for 2025 to administrative, non-business organizations, political organizations, and political-social organizations as follows:
(1) officials and public employees and workers of administrative agencies, non-business units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have the Gregorian New Year holiday on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
(2) Agencies, units, enterprises, schools, hospitals, armed forces units, and households will raise the national flag on January 1, 2025.
(3) The Chairperson of the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts - counties, and heads of agencies, units are tasked with:
- Encouraging and reminding the raising of the national flag in residential areas and units under their management; arranging on-duty staff on holidays to ensure security, fire prevention, safety for agencies, units, and public entertainment areas; arranging parts to work appropriately for continuous work, ensuring good service for organizations and the public.
- Continuing to guide, check, and supervise the prevention and control of epidemics within their managed areas.
(4) Assign the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to lead, in coordination with departments, units, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, and districts - counties, to effectively motivate the people, agencies, units, and organizations to maintain cleanliness at residential areas, markets, schools, offices, enterprises, and streets; beautify public offices, and the facades of houses; continue to practice urban civilized lifestyles.
Thus, Ho Chi Minh City tax officials will have 1 day off for Gregorian New Year's Day 2025, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
