Who is not eligible to register for lawyer apprenticeship?

Currently, there are 02 subjects eligible to register for lawyer apprenticeship: those who have a Certificate of Graduation from Lawyer Training and those who are exempted from Lawyer Training but must undergo lawyer apprenticeship as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 16 of the Law on Lawyers.

However, according to the provisions of Circular 19/2013/TT-BTP, persons under any of the following circumstances are not eligible to register for lawyer apprenticeship:

- Currently officials and public employees; officers, professional soldiers, and defense workers in agencies or units under the People's Army; officers, non-commissioned officers, and workers in agencies or units under the People's Police;- Being prosecuted for criminal liability; having been convicted and not yet having their criminal record expunged for unintentional crimes or less serious intentional crimes; having been convicted of serious intentional crimes, very serious intentional crimes, or especially serious intentional crimes, even if the criminal record has been expunged;- Currently subjected to administrative handling measures and being placed in compulsory drug rehabilitation centers or compulsory education centers;- Lacking civil act capacity or having restricted civil act capacity;- Persons who are currently officials and public employees; officers, professional soldiers, and defense workers in agencies or units under the People's Army; officers, non-commissioned officers, and workers in agencies or units under the People's Police who have been dismissed but not yet for a period of three years from the date the dismissal decision took effect.
