1. Who is the current head of the Vietnam Road Administration?

- The Vietnam Road Administration has a Director and Deputy Directors.

The number of Deputy Directors shall comply with the provisions of law and the Ministry of Transport.

The Director of the Vietnam Road Administration shall be appointed, relieved of duty, rotated, and mobilized by the Minister in accordance with the law.

The Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration shall be appointed, relieved of duty, rotated, and transferred by the Minister at the request of the Director of the Vietnam Road Administration.

- The Director of the Vietnam Road Administration is responsible before the Minister and before the law for all activities of the Department. The Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration is responsible to the Director and to the law for the field of work assigned to him.

- The Director of the Vietnam Road Administration shall appoint and dismiss the leadership and management positions under the Department according to the provisions of law and the decentralization of the Minister.

+ Department of management and maintenance of transport infrastructure.

+ Department of Transport, Vehicles, and Drivers.

+ Department of Science, Technology, Environment, and International Cooperation.

+ Road Construction Investment Management Sub-Department.

+ Road Management Zone I.

+ Road Management Zone II.

+ Road Management Zone III.

+ Road Management Zone IV.

- Public non-business units directly under the department, including:

+ College of Road Transport.

+ Road Engineering Center.

3. Position and function of Vietnam Road Administration

- The Vietnam Road Administration is an organization directly under the Ministry of Transport, performing the function of advising and assisting the Minister of Transport in state management and law enforcement on road transport nationwide (except for the function assigned to the Vietnam Expressway Administration); organizing the implementation of public services on road transport according to the provisions of law.

- The Road Administration of Vietnam has legal status, has its own seal in the shape of the national emblem, has its own account at the State Treasury, and is headquartered in Hanoi.

- The Department for Roads of Vietnam has a transaction name in English: Department for Roads of Vietnam (DRVN for short).

4. Tasks and powers of the Vietnam Road Administration regarding road traffic safety

Tasks and powers of the Vietnam Road Administration regarding road traffic safety include:

- Develop and submit to the Minister projects and solutions to ensure road traffic order and safety; guide and inspect the implementation of measures to ensure road traffic safety according to the provisions of law;

- Organize the implementation of the prevention, combat and response to incidents and natural disasters and coordinate search and rescue in road traffic according to the decentralization of the Minister;

- Guide, inspect and coordinatvthe implementation of load control of road transport vehicles nationwide;

- Organize the handling of black spots and potential traffic accidents, assess traffic safety in the management and maintenance of the national highway system in operation;

- Organize inspection on occupational safety and health; organize the investigation of occupational accidents occurring on land means of transport according to the provisions of law;

- Coordinate with relevant units to organize the implementation of fire prevention and fighting work for the national highway system being operated in accordance with law.
