1. To what organization does the Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation belong in Vietnam?

Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation is a public service unit under the Department of Foreign Information, performing the function of providing services and organizing activities to support state management in the fields of press, communication, and foreign information.

International transaction name: Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation (abbreviated as CPI).

The Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation has legal status, has its own seal and account at the bank and treasury to transact in accordance with the law, and is headquartered in Hanoi.

2. What are the duties and powers of the Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation?

The tasks and powers of the Center for Press and International Communication Co-operation are specified in Article 2 of Decision 463/QD-BTTTT of 2018, including:

- Develop and submit to the Director of the Department of Foreign Information the Center's long-term, medium-term, and annual development plans, and organize implementation after approval.

- Carry out activities to support functional units of the Ministry and the Department of Foreign Information in the management of press, communications, and foreign information.

- Welcome, manage, and guide delegations of press reporters and foreign guests entering Vietnam to operate. Organize Vietnamese press delegations to operate abroad.

- Produce and co-produce TV shows, feature films, documentaries, reports, and other information and audio-visual products to broadcast on domestic and international television channels according to the regulations of the Law; provide services for exchanging television programs, information, and audio-visual products with domestic and international partners.

- Build foreign information channels abroad and in key areas according to the provisions of the law.

- Edit, translate, and exploit domestic and international information, radio, and television channels according to the provisions of law.

- Produce and co-produce publications, audiovisual products, and foreign affairs products for domestic and international distribution, providing them to Vietnamese embassies and organizations abroad, international organizations, and embassies of countries in Vietnam, and issuing them in other forms according to the provisions of the law.

- Publishing, publishing cooperation, printing, and releasing all types of publications in Vietnam and abroad to serve foreign information work according to the provisions of law.

- Build, manage, and operate electronic news sites serving foreign information work: Vietbao.vn; Vietnam.vn; the electronic information portal Vietnamasean.vn; Viet-Lao specialized page; providing design consulting services; building electronic information pages and electronic information portals; and other activities serving foreign information work according to the provisions of law.

- Organize conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and events domestically and internationally to serve foreign information work.

- Cooperate in organizing training and fostering journalism and communication skills.

- Coordinate with functional units of the Department of Foreign Information to develop foreign information projects and programs.

- Implement or cooperate with domestic and foreign partners to implement projects on journalism, communication, and foreign information according to the provisions of the law.

- Proactively develop activities related to the functions and tasks of the Center, in order to create additional sources of revenue to expand and develop the career according to the provisions of law;

- Manage and exploit the conference building "International Media Center" in Ho Chi Minh City.

- Manage the organizational structure, officials, workers, employees, records, documents, finances, and assets of the Center according to the provisions of law and the decentralization of the Director of the Department of Foreign Information.

- Perform other tasks assigned by the Director of the Department of Diplomatic Information.
