1. Cases of awarding the Labor Order:
When Decree 110/2020/ND-CP comes into effect on November 1, 2020, new reward policies for pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes in International Olympiads by subjects will officially be applied.
This Decree increases the bonus for individuals who win prizes and, most importantly, awards the First-Class Labor Order to pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes meeting one of the following criteria:
- Winning two consecutive World Gold Medals in International Olympiads by subjects;
- Winning two consecutive first prizes in international scientific and technical research competitions;
- Winning a Gold Medal in the world vocational skills competition.
Additionally, Decree 110/2020/ND-CP also specifies the cases eligible to receive the Second-Class and Third-Class Labor Orders:
- Awarding the Second-Class Labor Order to pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes and meet one of the following criteria:
- Winning Gold Medal in International Olympiads by subjects;
- Winning First prize in international scientific and technical research competitions;
- Winning Silver Medal in the world vocational skills competition;
- Winning Gold Medal in the Asian vocational skills competition.
- Awarding the Third-Class Labor Order to pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes and meet one of the following criteria:
- Winning Silver Medal in International Olympiads by subjects;
- Winning Second prize in international scientific and technical research competitions;
- Winning Bronze Medal in the world vocational skills competition;
- Winning Silver Medal in the Asian vocational skills competition.
The State now officially recognizes the contributions of students in the nation-building process. The Labor Order is a highly prestigious award exclusively for individuals and collectives with significant contributions to the country's development. Students, who have worked diligently day and night to achieve such accomplishments, certainly deserve the Labor Order. However, to be awarded the First-Class Labor Order, students must endure a challenging path.
For those participating in international Olympiads, "two consecutive times" is a highly demanding yet honorable achievement. This proves that to receive the highest reward, students must continuously study and maintain the highest spirit.
Alongside the prestigious Labor Order, the bonus for individuals winning prizes has significantly increased based on their achievements.
- For pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes in International Olympiads by subjects, international scientific and technical research competitions, and the world vocational skills competition, the bonuses are as follows:
- Gold medal or first prize: 55 million VND;
- Silver medal or second prize: 35 million VND;
- Bronze medal or third prize: 25 million VND;
- Encouragement prize: 10 million VND.
- For pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes in Asian Olympiads by subjects and Asian vocational skills competitions in Vietnam, the bonuses are as follows:
- Gold medal: 35 million VND;
- Silver medal: 25 million VND;
- Bronze medal: 10 million VND;
- Encouragement prize: 8 million VND.
- For pupils, trainees, and students who win prizes in the Southeast Asian vocational skills competitions, the bonuses are as follows:
- Gold Medal: 25 million VND;
- Silver Medal: 10 million VND;
- Bronze Medal: 8 million VND;
- Consolation: 5 million VND.
Thus, students winning a world gold medal receive bonuses approximately 35 times 37 times the statutory pay rate (the current statutory pay rate is 1.49 million VND), a silver medal is 23.4 times, a bronze medal is 16.7 times, and a consolation prize is 6.7 times. Students winning the Asian and Southeast Asian prizes receive bonuses several times higher than the statutory pay rate, depending on their achievements.
Compared to previous regulations (Decision 158/2002/QD-TTg), the bonus has significantly increased (ranging from 7 million VND to 45 million VND, depending on the achievement). This substantial increase aims to encourage and motivate students to continue their efforts in studying and to perform even better in the future, contributing to the country's prosperity.
