The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam to approve the use of electric taxis at airports

The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam received Official Dispatch 35/CV-GSM dated May 12, 2023, from GSM Smart and Green Mobility Joint Stock Company on requesting electric taxi services at airports, which help reducing carbon and methane emissions and limiting the heaviest impacts from global warming due to CO2 emissions, the Ministry of Transport commented as follows:

- Consent to the use of electric taxi cabs at airports by business units transporting passengers by taxi in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the level of environmental pollution, meet the requirements of commitments  on Vietnam's zero emissions to 2050 at COP26, and implement Decision 876/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022, of the Prime Minister approving the Action Program on green energy transformation, reducing carbon and methane emissions in the transport sector.

- Request the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam: coordinate to guide and create conditions for GSM Smart and Green Mobility Joint Stock Company to deploy and provide passenger transport services by electric taxis at airports in accordance with law.

- Request GSM Green Mobility and Smart Joint Stock Company to strictly comply with the regulations on business and conditions for transport business by car.
