+ Conduct initial, periodic, unusual, and modification inspections of vehicles;

+ Prepare and issue inspection dossiers for inspected subjects;

+ Inspect the quality of industrial products used in new construction, modification, and installation on vehicles;
+ Assess technical conditions, participate in accident investigations for inland waterway vehicles within their scope of duties as requested by competent authorities;

+ Calculate service fees and inspection fees for inspected objects as regulated;

- Scope of Work:
+ Perform duties as regulated in Clause 1, Article 11 of Circular 49/2015/TT-BGTVT, according to the training specialty for inland waterway vehicles with a total capacity of less than 500 GT, inland waterway vehicles with main engine total power under 300 horsepower, inland waterway vehicles with a carrying capacity of less than 50 people (excluding VR-SB class ships, multi-hull vessels, container ships, high-speed passenger ships, hovercraft, hydrofoil ships, oil tankers, hazardous chemical carriers, liquefied gas carriers, and dangerous goods carriers);
+ In the case where Grade III inspectors specializing in hull construction are additionally trained in Program 2 per Section III, Appendix I or Grade III inspectors specializing in ship machinery are additionally trained in Program 1 per Section III, Appendix I issued with this Circular, and are trained and practiced corresponding professional items, meeting the practical competency inspection requirements, they are allowed to perform periodic and unusual inspections according to the additionally trained specialty for vehicles mentioned in point a, clause 2, Article 11 of Circular 49/2015/TT-BGTVT.

- Duties:
+ Perform duties as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 11 of Circular 49/2015/TT-BGTVT;
+ Participate in professional training for Grade III and Grade II inspectors;
+ Provide professional internship guidance for Grade II trainee inspectors;
+ Conduct practical competency inspections to recognize Grade III and Grade II inspectors.
- Scope of Work:
+ Perform duties as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 12 of Circular 49/2015/TT-BGTVT, according to the training specialty for all types of inland waterway vehicles (excluding oil tankers with a total capacity of 3000 GT or more, VR-SB class cargo ships with a total capacity of 3000 GT or more, or VR-SB class passenger ships with a carrying capacity of 100 or more people, hazardous chemical carriers, liquefied gas carriers, and dangerous goods carriers);
+ In case Grade II inspectors specializing in hull construction are additionally trained in Program 2 per Section III, Appendix I or Grade II inspectors specializing in ship machinery are additionally trained in Program 1 per Section III, Appendix I issued with this Circular, and are trained and practiced corresponding professional items, meeting the practical competency inspection requirements, they are allowed to perform periodic and unusual inspections according to the additionally trained specialty for vehicles mentioned in point a, clause 2, Article 12 of Circular 49/2015/TT-BGTVT.
