1. Functions of the Labor and Trade Union Magazine in Vietnam

The functions of the Labor and Trade Union Magazine are specified in Article 3 of the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Labor and Trade Union Magazine issued with Decision 743/QD-TLD in 2019, including:

- Theoretical research, practical summary, exchange, and professional guidance on the worker movement and trade union activities;

- Information and propaganda about the Party's policies, the State's legal policies, and the tasks of the Vietnam Trade Union on issues related to labor, employment, workers, unions, and the field of occupational safety and hygiene.

2. Tasks of the Labor and Trade Union Magazine in Vietnam

- Develop and implement programs and plans to implement projects and strategies for developing the Magazine after being approved by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

- Organize editing, publishing, and distribution of publications to ensure compliance with principles and purposes according to the provisions of the issued press license.

- Organize seminars, forums for theoretical research, practical reviews, exchanges, and professional guidance on the worker movement and trade union activities; propagate the Party's policies, State's policies and laws, and the tasks of the Trade Union organization on issues related to labor, employment, workers, and trade unions.

- Organize forums for theoretical research, practical reviews, exchanges, professional guidance, awards, exhibitions, fairs, and social activities in the field of occupational safety and hygiene; Disseminate knowledge and experience in safe operations, occupational hygiene, fire and explosion prevention, improve working conditions and working environments, and protect workers' health.

- Propagate and reflect on all aspects of the worker movement and trade union activities; grasp ideas, thoughts, and aspirations; and orient public opinion among union members, workers, officials, and laborers; discover and set examples of typical advanced groups and individuals; and fight and refute false, hostile allegations and violations of the law related to the working class and the Vietnamese Trade Union organization.

- Research and deploy new forms and methods of communication suitable to the needs of readers who are officials, trade union members, and workers according to the provisions of the law and the General Confederation.

- Perform other tasks when assigned by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

3. Powers of the Labor and Trade Union Magazine in Vietnam

- Host and participate in scientific research; organize and participate in scientific conferences, seminars, awards, rankings, exhibitions, fairs, and social activities on the basis of exploiting and processing domestic and international information and documents in the fields within the scope of assigned functions and tasks.

- Cooperate with Trade Unions at all levels, press agencies, domestic and foreign organizations, and individuals according to the provisions of the law; organize a network of collaborators and informants to carry out assigned tasks.

- Joint venture, association, signing and implementation of advertising contracts, propaganda support, event organization, communication services, etc., with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals within the scope of assigned functions and tasks according to the regulations of the State and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

- Manage cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers according to the regulations of the Party, state, and decentralization of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

- Receive and use grants, voluntary aid, and legal financial mobilization from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to carry out assigned tasks according to the regulations of the State and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
