1. Position and function of Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper in Vietnam

- Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper is the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, a forum for the People; perform the function of informing and propagating guidelines, guidelines and policies of the Party, laws of the State, activities of management, exploitation, use and protection of natural resources, environment, climate change. under the state management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, including the following areas: land, water resources, mineral resources, geology, environment, hydrometeorology, climate change, cartography, integrated resource management and marine and island environment protection, remote sensing, serving the state management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, meeting the society's demand for information and activities of the natural resources and environment sector, contributing to the country's sustainable development.

- Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper is a press service unit under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, which is assigned autonomy, has its own seal and account in accordance with the law; The head office is located in Hanoi, with representative offices and correspondents residing in a number of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government.

2. Tasks and powers of Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper in Vietnam

The Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper is responsible for performing the following tasks and powers in accordance with the Press Law:

- Disseminate information on the guidelines, lines, and policies of the Party, the laws of the State, and the regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the natural resources and environment sector.

- Information on the directing and operating activities of the leaders of the Ministry; information on domestic and international news, economic and social events related to socio-economic development, assurance of national defense and security; and development of the natural resources and environment industry as prescribed; reflect and orient public opinion on the management activities of the industry.

- Disseminate experiences, achievements, and results of scientific research; provide information, introduce activities related to the management, use, and protection of natural resources, the environment, and climate change in countries and international organizations in service of international cooperation, development, and integration.

- Implement the work of reporting and synthesizing information to serve the work of the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the units under the Ministry, and the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government; participate in the implementation and provision of information content for the portal of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

- Produce radio and television programs on natural resources and the environment in accordance with law; select and provide information content broadcast on the internet, satellite television, and social networks according to regulations and central and local radio and television stations; update and store radio and television materials in service of propagating activities of the natural resources and environment sector.

- Organize forums and seminars on communication and journalism in the fields of natural resources and environment; organize media events on natural resources and environment in accordance with the functions and tasks of the Newspaper and the provisions of law.

- Participate in launching and organizing patriotic emulation movements, discovering, encouraging, and setting examples of typical advanced collectives and individuals; fight against and prevent illegal acts and negative phenomena in the fields of natural resources, environment, and other fields according to the provisions of the law.

- Publish and distribute publications of the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper in accordance with the principles, purposes, functions, and tasks of the newspaper and in accordance with the License to operate the press and the provisions of the Press Law, the Law on Publishing, and other provisions of law.

- Organize the reception and processing of petitions from the People and from readers; post information and respond to opinions promptly, accurately, and honestly; participate in the prevention and fight against corruption, negativity, and illegal acts in accordance with the law and as assigned by the Minister.

- Perform service activities in accordance with the functions, tasks, powers, and capacity of the Newspaper and in accordance with the provisions of the law.

- Develop a long-term, 5-year, annual plan on information, propaganda, and press activities of the unit to report to the Ministry's leadership for consideration, approval, and implementation; coordinate with functional units under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize training and fostering of staff, workers, and collaborators to meet journalistic standards as prescribed.

- Implement international cooperation activities, exchange delegations, and learn from experiences with news agencies, foreign press, and international press organizations in accordance with the law.

- Implement administrative reform according to the administrative reform program and plan of the Ministry and as assigned by the Minister.

- Manage the organization, apparatus, employment positions, and structure of public employees according to professional titles and the number of employees of the unit; as assigned by the Ministry and prescribed by law.

- Statistics, periodicals, and irregular reports on task performance.

- Perform other tasks assigned by the Minister.
