Regarding this issue, LawNet would like to answer as follows:
The criteria for rewarding students who win prizes in national and international competitions according to Article 3 of Decree 110/2020/ND-CP are as follows:
(1) Awarding the first-class Labor Medal to pupils, students, and trainees who achieve one of the following achievements:
- Twice consecutively won the Gold Medal in the international Olympic competition of subjects or twice consecutively won the first prize in the international scientific and technical research contest;
- Won the Gold Medal in the World Vocational Skills Competition.
(2) Awarding the second-class Labor Medal to students who achieve one of the following achievements:
- Won the Gold Medal in the international Olympic competition of subjects or the first prize in the international scientific and technical research contest;
- Won a Silver Medal in the World Vocational Skills Competition or a Gold Medal in the Asian Vocational Skills Competition.
(3) Awarding the third-class Labor Medal to pupils, students, or trainees who achieve one of the following achievements:
- Won the Silver Medal in the International Olympic Competition of Subjects, the Second Prize in the International Scientific and Technical Research Competition, or the Gold Medal in the Asian Olympiad in Subjects;
- Won Bronze Medal in the World Skills Competition or a silver medal in the Asian Skills Competition.
(4) Awarding the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to pupils, students, or trainees who achieve one of the following achievements:
- Won the Bronze Medal in the International Olympiad in Subjects, the Third Prize in the International Scientific and Technical Research Competition, or the Silver Medal in the Asian Olympiad in Subjects;
- Won the Bronze Medal in the Asian vocational skills exam or the Gold Medal in the Southeast Asian vocational skills exam.
(5) Giving the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training or the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs to pupils, students, or trainees who achieve one of the following achievements:
- Won the bronze medal in the Asian Olympiad in all subjects;
- Won a Silver or Bronze medal in the Southeast Asian vocational skills exam;
- Winning consolation prizes, fourth prizes, certificates of excellent vocational skills, honors degrees (hereinafter referred to as consolation prizes) in international competitions specified in Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 110/2020/ND-CP;
- Winning first prize, second prize, or third prize in national competitions as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 2, of Decree 110/2020/ND-CP.
(6) Students and trainees who achieve many achievements in a year will be considered and awarded the highest form of state-level commendation as prescribed in (1), (2), (3), (4) this part.
Objects of reward for winning in national and international competitions in Vietnam according to Article 2 of Decree 110/2020/ND-CP are as follows:
- Students and trainees who win prizes in national exams organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, including: National exam for excellent students in subjects, the scientific and technical research contest, and the national vocational skills exam.
- Students and trainees who win prizes in international competitions decided by the Ministry of Education and Training or the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs to send to participate, including: International Olympic subjects, Asian Olympic subjects; international scientific and technical research competitions; the World Vocational Skills Competition, Asian Vocational Skills Competition, Southeast Asian Vocational Skills Competition.
