1. Regulations on medical examinations for military service in Vietnam

Regulations on medical examination for military service according to Article 7 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP are as follows:

- Health Examination Council:

+ Members of the Health Examination Council, including: officers and military medical staff of the regiment and equivalent or higher. When necessary, the Council is reinforced with professional military medical forces at higher levels;

+ Duties of the Health Examination Council

++ Organize and deploy health examinations, classifications, and conclusions for all new soldiers according to the approved plan;

++ Summary of reports on health examination results.

- Contents of health check:

+ According to the regulations on selecting and calling citizens to join the army of the Ministry of National Defense;

+ Health classification according to the provisions of Article 9 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP.

- Health check-up process:

+ Notify time and location of the health check-up;

+ Organize health check-ups according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 7 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP; For cases where the health card has the letter "T" (temporary), the Health Review Council must conclude:

++ If the disease is cured, remove the "T" and change the health type;

++ If the patient does not recover or shows a worsening trend, a re-examination must be held and a conclusion must be drawn that the patient is healthy enough or not healthy enough to be called into the army and must be returned to the locality.

+ Summarize reports on health examination results according to Form 4

2. Health classification for military service in Vietnam

Health classification for military service according to Article 9 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP is as follows:

- Based on health classification

According to health standards in Table No. 1, Table No. 2 and Table No. 3, Appendix 1 issued with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP.

- How to score:

For each indicator, after examination, the doctor gives an even score from 1 - 6 in the "Score" column, specifically:

+ Score 1: Indicates very good health condition;

+ Point 2: Indicates good health condition;

+ Score 3: Indicates good health condition;

+ Score 4: Indicates average health condition;

+ Score 5: Indicates poor health;

+ Score 6: Indicates very poor health condition.

- How to write a health card for military service:

+ For each specialty, after examination, the doctor will give points in the "Score" column; In the "Reason" column, a summary of the reason for that score must be written; In the "Sign" column, the examining doctor must sign and clearly state his full name;

+ In the conclusion, the Chairman of the Health Examination Council bases the conclusions on the points given in each indicator to conclude and classify health according to regulations, recording in numbers and words (the parts in words are in parentheses). ;

+ The Chairman of the Health Examination Council is responsible for signing the military service health form after concluding;

+ Signature of the Chairman of the Health Examination Council stamped by the Council Chairman's agency; The signature of the Chairman of the Health Review Council is stamped with the seal of the unit that decided to establish the Health Review Council.

- How to classify health:

Based on the score for 8 indicators recorded in the military service health card to classify, specifically as follows:

+ Type 1: 8 indicators all score 1;

+ Type 2: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 2;

+ Type 3: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 3;

+ Type 4: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 4;

+ Type 5: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 5;

+ Type 6: There is at least 1 criterion with a score of 6.

- Some points to note:

+ In case of acute illness, the disease may improve after a period of time or after treatment; that point must be accompanied by the letter "T" next to it (meaning "temporary").

The examiner must write a summary in Vietnamese of the disease name next to it (can be written with international nouns between parentheses). When concluding, if the letter "T" in the indicator has the highest score, the letter "T" must be written in the health classification section;

+ In cases where a score cannot be given immediately, the Health Examination Council can send citizens to be examined at a hospital for a more accurate conclusion;

+ If a conclusion cannot be reached, send the citizen to the nearest specialized hospital for examination and a conclusion of diagnosis. Maximum time from 7 - 10 days to reach a conclusion and only carry out in case of necessity;

+ In cases where the health card has the letter "T", the Military Service Health Examination Council is responsible for guiding citizens to medical facilities for treatment.
