A bailiff in Vietnam is only allowed to practice after being registered to practice and issued a Card. The following is the application file, the order of practice registration and card issuance for the bailiff in Vietnam.

Dossier of application for a reissued card includes:
- An application for practice registration and issuance of a bailiff's card, made according to the form prescribed by the Minister of Justice;
- A certified true copy or a photocopy enclosed with the original Decision on appointment or re-appointment of the bailiff for comparison;
- 01 portrait photo of the bailiff, size 2 cm x 3 cm, taken not more than 06 months before the date of application submission.
The bailiff's office can submit the application in person or send it by post to the Department of Justice where it is located.
- Step 1: The bailiff's office submits 01 set of documents.
- Step 2: Receiving and handling:
Within 10 days from the date of receipt of a complete and valid dossier as prescribed, the Department of Justice shall record the name of the person who is registered to practice in the list of local public bailiffs and issue a bailiff's card;
In case of refusal, it must be notified in writing, clearly stating the reason.
- Step 3: Posting the list of Relators:
Within 07 working days from the date of recording the name of the person registered to practice on the List of Attorneys, the Department of Justice must post this List on:
+ Portal of the Department of Justice;
+ Local mass media
+ Notify the registration of bailiff practice to the agencies specified in Clause 4, Article 12 of Decree 08/2020/ND-CP.
