The procedures for integrating, updating, and adjusting information on ID cards in Vietnam according to Article 20 of Decree 70/2024/ND-CP are as follows:
Citizens request to integrate, update, or adjust information on ID cards through the National Public Service Portal, the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security (Hanoi, Vietnam), the national identification application, or directly at the ID management agency.
Procedures for information integration on ID cards when applying for, renewing, or reissuing an ID card at the ID management agency
During the process of applying for, renewing, or reissuing the ID card, citizens provide the information to be integrated into the ID card through the Request Form for Identity Procedures;
The ID management agency receiving the application transfers the integration request to the Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency along with the application for issuance, renewal, or reissuance of the ID card;
The Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency conducts checking, verification, and validation of the integration request through the identity database, national database, and specialized database, and performs integration for the successfully verified information;
The ID management agency receiving the application informs the integration result when returning the ID card to the citizen.
Procedures for integrating, updating, and adjusting information on issued ID cards through the National Public Service Portal, the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security (Hanoi, Vietnam), and the national identification application
Citizens select the information to be integrated, updated, and adjusted that is already in the National Population Database, ID database; register the time and ID management agency to perform the integration;
Citizens personally go to the ID management agency to request integration, updating, and adjusting information into the existing ID card according to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 20 of Decree 70/2024/ND-CP.
Procedures for integrating, updating, and adjusting information on issued ID cards at the ID management agency
The ID management agency receiving the application requests the citizen to present the issued ID card for identity verification; selects information to be integrated, updated, and adjusted that is already in the National Population Database, ID database to perform the integration, updating, and adjustment into the ID card;
If the information requested for integration, updating, and adjustment is not in the National Population Database, ID database, the receiving ID management agency processes the application and transfers the integration, updating, and adjustment request to the Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency for information validation through the national database, specialized database. After successful validation, the integration, updating, and adjustment of information into the ID card will be carried out.
Procedures for information integration into ID cards for individuals under 6 years old requesting issuance, renewal, or reissuance of ID cards, or citizens requesting reissuance due to loss or damage through the National Public Service Portal, the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security (Hanoi, Vietnam), and the national identification application are as follows:
Citizens or the legal representative of individuals under 6 years old select information to be integrated, attach it to the ID card issuance, renewal, or reissuance application;
The Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency conducts checking, verification, and validation of the integration request through the identity database, national database, and specialized database, and performs integration for the successfully verified information;
The Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency informs the integration result when returning the ID card to the citizens;
Citizens or the legal representative of individuals under 6 years old pay the fee for integrating, updating, and adjusting information on the ID card and the delivery service fee as prescribed by law on fees and charges.
The head of the Ministry of Public Security's ID management agency has the authority to decide on the integration, updating, and adjustment of information on ID cards.
Regulations on integrating information into ID cards, and using and extracting integrated information in Vietnam according to Article 19 of Decree 70/2024/ND-CP are as follows:
Information from various documents to be integrated into ID cards is displayed in character form, including all information on the documents that have been authenticated with the national database, specialized database, and updated, synchronized into the National Population Database to be transferred to the ID production, issuance, and management system for information integration into ID cards.
The exploitation and use of information integrated into ID cards must be agreed upon by citizens through the authentication of specialized devices.
