Procedures for admission as a member of the Vietnam Federation for the Disabled (Internet image) 

1. Member of Vietnam Federation for the Disabled

Members of the Vietnam Federation for the Disabled include:

- Official member:

+ Members of the members are official members of the Union;

+ Individuals with disabilities who have Vietnamese nationality, regardless of ethnicity, religion, belief, gender, or disability causes, wish to contribute to the building of the Union; voluntarily register to join the Union and agree to the Union's Charter, which is decided by the Union Standing Committee, to become a member of the Union;

+ Vietnamese citizens who have personal ethics, reputation, skills, and experience in operations are successful experts, scientists, and businessmen who are passionate about helping people with disabilities and wish to contribute to building the Union; have conditions to participate in activities at specialized agencies of the Union; agree to the Union's Charter; voluntarily join the Union; and commit to fully paying the membership fees considered and recognized by the Union Standing Committee.

- Honorary member:

Vietnamese individuals and workers who are not official members but have made many positive contributions to the Union will be recognized as honorary members by the Standing Committee. Honorary members are allowed to participate in the Union's activities but are not allowed to vote, elect, or stand for election to leadership positions in the Union.

2. Procedures for admission to members of the Vietnam Federation for the Disabled

- Vietnamese individuals and organizations that fully meet the conditions specified in Articles 7 and 8 of this Charter, submit an application to join the association and submit it to the Union Standing Board for consideration and decision.

- The Standing Committee of the Union shall specify the order and procedures for admission of members.

3. Functions of Vietnam Federation for the Disabled

- Vietnam Federation of Associations for People with Disabilities is an organization that brings together associations and organizations of people with disabilities and organizations for people with disabilities; create strength in all activities to support people with disabilities to live confidently, equally, and fully integrated in society, striving to become useful citizens for their families and society.

- Participating in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members and members; creating equal opportunities and favorable conditions for people with disabilities to study, live, and work; representing members and members in relations with organizations and individuals at home and abroad in the field of activities for people with disabilities in Vietnam.

- Coordinating activities of associations and member organizations.

- Gathering opinions and aspirations of people with disabilities to reflect them on the Party, State, front, and relevant agencies and organizations in formulating legal policies
and other issues related to people with disabilities.

- Participating in monitoring, criticism, and evaluation of the implementation of legal provisions on people with disabilities and the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in accordance with the law.

- Organizing to share operating experience among member organizations and members.

- Joining with international organizations in the field of people with disabilities in accordance with the law.

4. Tasks of Vietnam Federation for the Disabled

- Acting as the focal point to organize propaganda and dissemination activities of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies; contributing to raising awareness of the community and people with disabilities about the guidelines of the Party, the State's laws and policies, and the provisions of the International Convention related to People with Disabilities; international activities on people with disabilities; and the rights and obligations of people with disabilities.

- Participating in the protection and promotion of equal rights for people with disabilities in accessing health services, inclusive education, rehabilitation, employment, cultural activities, sports, and entertainment.

- Protecting equal rights of people with disabilities regarding intellectual property rights, inventions, scientific and technical improvements, technologies, ideas, creations, copyrights, trademarks, and products of people with disabilities as prescribed by law.

- Organizing support for people with disabilities or organizations of people with disabilities according to the provisions of law.

- Mobilizing domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to support material and spiritual resources for the activities of the Union and its members.

- Organizing activities on information, exchange of experiences, and training to improve knowledge and skills for member organizations, members of the union, and people with disabilities in accordance with the law.

- Consolidating and expanding relations between members with relevant social organizations and international relations. Promote and develop members nationwide.

- Receiving domestic and foreign funding in accordance with current law.

- Establishing organizations under the Union according to the provisions of law.
