3. Duties and powers of the Aviation Medical Center in Vietnam

Duties and powers of the Aviation Medical Center in Vietnam include:

- Organize health assessments to issue health certificates to aviation employees and other subjects according to the regulations of the Vietnam Aviation Administration and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

- Organize recruitment exams to train pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers, and other aviation staff as needed; periodic health checks; medical examinations; and treatment for aviation officers, employees, and people in the area according to needs and provisions of law.

- Guide units in the aviation industry on medical expertise and operations; environmental sanitation; industrial hygiene; food hygiene; and safety; and prevent and control epidemics in the aviation industry according to the provisions of law.

- Participate in inspection and supervision of food hygiene and safety on aircraft, terminals, food processing facilities, and food supply for flights according to regulations.

- Coordinate with agencies and units to detect toxic and dangerous environmental factors that affect human health and propose remedial measures to ensure labor safety in aviation operations.

- Coordinate with relevant agencies and units to carry out aviation emergency, search, and rescue work under the direction of the Vietnam Aviation Administration.

- Prepare training and fostering plans for officials and workers under management authority and submit them to the Vietnam Aviation Administration for approval; Organize training, refresher courses, and updates to professional knowledge and medical skills for officials and employees under management authority.
