1. Criteria for appointment to inspectors in Vietnam

Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022 stipulates the criteria for appointment to inspectors in Vietnam as follows:

- Must be an official, officer of the People's Army, officer of the People's Police, or person working in cryptography, except where the Government of Vietnam has other provisions for inspectors of inspection agencies established according to the provisions of law or international treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a signatory or according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 9 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Loyalty to the Fatherland and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; must possess good moral qualities; have a sense of responsibility, integrity, honesty, impartiality, and objectivity.

- Must have a university degree or higher, knowledge of state management, and an understanding of the law; for inspectors in specialized fields, professional knowledge in that field is also required.

- Must possess an inspector training certificate and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Must have at least 02 years of inspection work, excluding probationary periods, or at least 05 years of work experience for officials and public employees, officers of the People's Army, officers of the People's Police, or persons working in cryptography, before transferring to inspection agencies.

2. Newest regulations on criteria for appointment to principal inspectors in Vietnam

Article 40 of the Inspection Law 2022 stipulates the criteria for appointment to principal inspectors in Vietnam as follows:

- Must meet the standards specified in Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Must possess a principal inspector training certificate and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Must have held the position of inspector or equivalent for at least 09 years.

- Must pass the promotion exam or be considered for promotion from inspector to principal inspector, or be transferred to the position according to the regulations on officials and public employees.

3. Criteria for appointment to senior inspectors in Vietnam

Article 41 of the Inspection Law 2022 stipulates the criteria for appointment to senior inspectors in Vietnam as follows:

- Must meet the standards specified in Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Must possess a senior inspector training certificate and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Must have held the position of principal inspector or equivalent for at least 06 years.

- Must pass the promotion exam or be considered for promotion from principal inspector to senior inspector, or be transferred to the position according to the regulations on officials and public employees.

4. Newest regulations on cases of dismissal of inspectors in Vietnam

Article 42 of the Inspection Law 2022 outlines the cases of dismissal of inspectors in Vietnam as follows:

- Retirement, resignation, or transfer to another sector;

- Due to health reasons, family circumstances, or other reasons that prevent the completion of assigned duties;

- Convicted by the court with a judgment or decision that has taken legal effect;

- Committing prohibited acts stipulated in Article 8 of the Inspection Law 2022;

- Failing to complete tasks for one year in the appointed position;
