According to Article 36 of QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT, command signs have codes R and R.E with the names of the signs as follows:

- Sign number R.122: Stop;

- Sign numbers R.301 (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h): Direction to follow;

- Sign numbers R.302 (a,b,c): Direction to go around an obstacle;

- Sign number R.303: Intersection with a roundabout;

- Sign number R.304: Road for non-motorized vehicles;

- Sign number R.305: Road for pedestrians;

- Sign number R.306: Minimum allowed speed;

- Sign number R.307: End of minimum speed;

- Sign numbers R.308 (a, b): Overpass route;

2. Positioning of command signs according to driving direction and effectiveness of command signs in Vietnam

The positioning of command signs according to driving direction and effectiveness of command signs according to Article 38 of QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT is as follows:

- Command signs must be placed at the locations where commands are needed. If it is difficult to place the sign far ahead, it must be accompanied by supplementary sign number S.502.

- Command signs are effective from their placement location. However, sign number R.301a, if placed after the next intersection, is effective from its placement up to the next intersection. Signs R.301 (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h), R.302 (a,b,c), R.411, R.412 (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h) and sign R.415 do not prohibit vehicles from turning right or left to enter or exit gates, alleys, or entrances of agencies or units along roads with sign effectiveness.

- If the road where the command sign is to be enforced passes through intersections (except intersections with alleys or entrances of agencies, entities, or adjacent land plots where the vehicle can only enter or exit the land plot by a common road), the command sign must be reiterated after the intersection in the direction of the road with the command sign, except for signs R.420, R.421, and command signs effective in the area and in specific cases as regulated separately.
