1. Criteria for appointment to inspectors in Vietnam

Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022 specifies the criteria for appointment to inspectors in Vietnam as follows:

- Be an official, officer of the People's Army, officer of the People's Public Security, or someone involved in cryptography work, except where otherwise regulated by the Government of Vietnam for inspectors of inspection agencies established according to the provisions of law or international treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a signatory or according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 9 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Be loyal to the Fatherland and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; possess good moral qualities; have a sense of responsibility, integrity, honesty, impartiality, and objectivity.

- Possess a university degree or higher, have knowledge of state management and an understanding of the law; for inspectors in specialized fields, they must have specialized knowledge in that field.

- Have a certificate of inspector training and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Have at least 02 years of inspection work, not including probationary periods, or have at least 05 years of work for officials and public employees, officers of the People's Army, officers of the People's Public Security, and persons involved in cryptography work, working in other agencies, organizations, or units before transferring to an inspection agency.

2. Criteria for appointment to principal inspectors in Vietnam

- Meet the standards specified in Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Have a certificate of senior inspector training and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Have held the inspector rank or equivalent for a minimum of 09 years.

- Pass the rank promotion exam or be considered for promotion from inspector to senior inspector or be considered for rank transfer according to the laws on officials and public employees.

3. Criteria for appointment to principal inspectors in Vietnam

According to Article 40 of the Inspection Law 2022, the criteria for appointment to principal inspectors in Vietnam are as follows:

- Meet the standards specified in Article 39 of the Inspection Law 2022.

- Have a certificate of chief inspector training and other certificates as required by law for officials and public employees.

- Have held the senior inspector rank or equivalent for a minimum of 06 years.

- Pass the rank promotion exam or be considered for promotion from senior inspector to chief inspector or be considered for rank transfer according to the laws on officials and public employees.

4. Latest regulations on cases of dismissal of inspectors in Vietnam

According to Article 42 of the Inspection Law 2022, the dismissal of an inspector can be executed in the following cases:

- Retirement, resignation, sector transfer;

- Due to health reasons, family circumstances, or other reasons that prevent completing the assigned tasks;

- Convicted by a court and the judgment or decision has taken legal effect;

- Committing prohibited acts as defined in Article 8 of the Inspection Law 2022;

- Failing to complete tasks for 01 year in the appointed rank;

- Appointed person committing fraud in the rank promotion exam or dishonestly declaring in the rank appointment documents;

- Other cases as stipulated by laws on officials and public employees.
