Military service registration in case of change in residence or workplace/school in Vietnam is carried out according to specific instructions in Article 7 of Decree 13/2016/ND-CP as follows:

Military service registration in case of moving out of the current residence or workplace/school in Vietnam

(1) Application

- Referral letter for military service registration or Referral letter for transfer of reserve soldiers;

- A photocopy of the Military Service Registration Certificate or Reserve Military Registration Certificate (bring the original for comparison);

- A photocopy of the household registration transfer letter issued by the police agency of the district, town, provincial city, or equivalent administrative unit regarding a change of residence or the decision of the head of an agency or organization on changing a new place of work or study (bring the original for comparison).

(2) Order of execution

Citizens who have registered for military service when changing their place of residence or place of work or study go directly to the commune-level Military Command to complete the procedures to register for military service to move. In case an agency or organization does not have a military command board, the head or lawful representative of the agency or organization is responsible for organizing for citizens to carry out procedures for military service registration to move out at their place of residence;

Within 01 day, the Commune-level Military Command is responsible for carrying out procedures for citizens to register for military service and issue a Certificate of Recommendation to register for military service or Referral letter for transfer of reserve military personnel to citizens, Reservist military personnel card; removed from the Register of Citizens Ready to Enlist or the Register of Reserve Military Personnel.

Within 10 days, the Commune-level Military Command summarizes the results and reports to the District-level Military Command. The District Military Command summarizes and removes from the Register of Citizens Ready to Enlist or the Register of Reserve Military Personnel citizens who change their place of residence, place of work, or place of study outside the district.

Military service registration in case of moving into the current residence or workplace/school in Vietnam

(i) Application

- Referral letter for military service registration or Referral letter for transfer of reserve soldiers;

- Reserve military ticket.

(ii) Order of execution

Within 10 days from the date of arrival at the new place of residence or place of work or study, citizens are responsible for going to the commune-level Military Command to directly register for military service. In the event that an agency or organization does not have a Military Command, the head or legal representative of the agency or organization is responsible for organizing citizens to register for military service to move to their place of residence.

Within 01 day, the commune-level Military Command, agencies, and organizations are responsible for guiding citizens to register for military service to move in; to the Register of Citizens Ready to Enlist or the Register of Reserve Soldiers; Create a reserve military form.

Within 10 days, the Commune-level Military Command summarizes the results and reports them to the District-level Military Command. The district-level Military Command compiles and manages the list of citizens registered for military service and reserve military service cards; in the Register of Citizens Ready to Enlist or the Register of Reserve Military Personnel.
