1. Improving the National Population and Development Steering Committee of Vietnam

Improving the National Population and Development Steering Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Steering Committee) includes the following members:

* Chairperson: Mr. Le Thanh Long, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

* Standing Deputy Chairperson: Ms. Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health.

* Deputy Chairpersons:

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs;- Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment;- Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health;

* Members:

- Mr. Nguyen Sy Hiep, Deputy Chief of Office of the Government of Vietnam;

- Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism;

- Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense;

- Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Public Security;

- Mr. Nguyen Trong Thua, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs;

- Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Finance;

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Minister of Education and Training;

- Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications;

- Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor;

- Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union;

- Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union;

- Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union;

- Representative of the leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front;

- Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Director of the Population Department, Ministry of Health, Member cum Secretary.

2. Duties and powers of the National Population and Development Steering Committee of Vietnam

The National Population and Development Steering Committee performs the following duties and powers:

- Direct, coordinate, and urge ministries and central authorities in addressing important, cross-sectoral issues related to population and development.

- Research and propose directions and solutions to address issues related to population and development.

- Report biannually and irregularly as required by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on the activities of the Steering Committee and the results of performing tasks related to population and development affairs.

3. Working mechanisms of the National Population and Development Steering Committee of Vietnam

- The Steering Committee works on a part-time basis, emphasizing the personal responsibility of the leader. The Chairperson issues the organization and operation regulations of the Steering Committee.

- The Ministry of Health is the standing agency responsible for ensuring the operating conditions of the Steering Committee. The Minister of Health utilizes the existing apparatus to organize and implement the tasks of the Steering Committee.

- The Chairperson uses the seal of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam in directing and solving the tasks of the Steering Committee; the Deputy Chairpersons and members use the seals of their respective agencies and units during the execution of their assigned duties.

4. Operating Funds of the National Population and Development Steering Committee of Vietnam

The operating funds of the Steering Committee are ensured by the state budget and are allocated in the regular operating budget estimates of the Ministry of Health.
