Below is notable content issued in Official Dispatch 2869/UBND-VX on suspending the operation of service establishments and limiting large gatherings to prevent and control COVID-19 in Vietnam.

Following the implementation of Notification 262/TB-VPCP and considering the proposal of the Department of Health in Document 4338/SYT-NVY regarding the proposal of certain contents in COVID-19 prevention and control activities, the People's Committee of the City directs as follows:

- Requesting all central authorities and levels of government to not be complacent and to prevent the widespread outbreak of the disease, requiring the Chairman of the District and Commune People's Committee to focus on leading and directing the epidemic prevention and control work in their respective areas; urgently reviewing local epidemic prevention and control plans to meet the requirements of the new situation.

- Temporarily closing non-essential service businesses such as bars, nightclubs.

- Requesting people to strictly wear masks in public places and to implement good preventive measures.

- Suspending the organization of crowded events such as festivals, fairs, investment promotion conferences, and other unnecessary conferences and seminars... Advising to limit gatherings at weddings, funerals... Not gathering more than 30 people in public places (excluding schools, hospitals).

- For essential activities in the healthcare sector, such as organizing voluntary blood donation, they need to continue and apply epidemic prevention and control measures as prescribed by the healthcare sector during the organization and implementation process.

- Encouraging online meetings and conferences; enhancing the application of information technology systems for online communication and work. In cases where it is necessary to organize meetings in person (by Party agencies, authorities, etc.), epidemic prevention and control measures prescribed by the healthcare sector must be applied.

Note: conducting temperature checks, requiring mask-wearing at entrances for all individuals coming to work, and contacting the offices of agencies and units. For meetings: Participants must wear masks, limit handshakes, close exchanges; wash their hands before and after the meeting. Clean and disinfect meeting rooms, surfaces, and objects in contact with participants after each meeting.

The above measures will be effective from 00:00 on July 31, 2020, until further notice.
