Forms of patrol and control by traffic police include:
(1) Patrol and maneuver control
Traffic police move on assigned routes and areas by means of traffic or on foot to patrol and control according to the plan approved by the competent authority, either directly or through the use of professional technical means and equipment.

(2) Control at the Traffic Police Station or at a point on the road

Contents of traffic police patrols include:
- Monitoring and grasping the situation of traffic order and safety on road traffic routes, the observance of the law on road traffic, and other regulations of relevant laws for people and vehicles participating in traffic. Promptly detecting, preventing, and handling violations of the law on road traffic and other violations in accordance with the law;
- Guiding, controlling, and dealing with traffic jams or coordinating in handling traffic jams and incidents on road traffic routes when patrolling and controlling;
- Performing other tasks assigned by competent authorities in accordance with the law;
The patrol content must be shown in the patrol and control plan approved by the competent authority.

- Control documents related to people and vehicles, including: Driving license; Certificate of fostering knowledge of road traffic law; Diploma or Certificate in operating special-use motorcycles; Vehicle registration certificate; Certificate of inspection of technical safety and environmental protection for motor vehicles and special-use motorcycles (for vehicles subject to inspection regulations); Certificate of civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners and other relevant papers as prescribed by law;
- Control traffic conditions for vehicles.

Controlling the shape, outside size, paint color, and number plate front, rear, and sides of the vehicle according to regulations;
Controlling the technical safety and environmental protection conditions of road motor vehicles and special-use motorcycles;
