The forces and means serving the state funeral in Vietnam are regulated under Decree 105/2012/ND-CP.

1. Forces and means serving the state funeral in Vietnam

The forces and means serving the State Funeral in Vietnam according to Article 18 Decree 105/2012/ND-CP are as follows:

- The forces serving the Funeral prepared by the Ministry of Defense, include;

+ Forces serving the viewing ceremony: 04 officers on immediate duty positioned 1.5 meters away from the coffin; 06 CKC gun-bearing soldiers with fixed bayonets standing outside 0.7 meters away from the officers on immediate duty; 02 infantry soldiers standing in front of the funeral house; flower-carrying forces; accompanying officers; military band serving the viewing ceremony;

  + Forces serving the funeral procession: 04 officers on immediate duty positioned at the four corners 1.5 meters away from the coffin; 06 CKC gun-bearing soldiers on immediate duty standing outside 0.7 meters away from the officers on immediate duty; 02 infantry soldiers standing in front of the funeral house; 01 National Flag team; 01 Military Flag team; honor guard comprising three branches (127 officers and soldiers), military band serving the funeral procession;

  + Forces serving the burial ceremony: 01 officer carrying a portrait, 01 officer carrying a medal cushion, 01 officer with a flag; working team consisting of 01 officer and 12 soldiers carrying the coffin; 07 soldiers preparing the hearse; honor guard comprising three branches;

  + Forces serving the interment ceremony: 27 soldiers performing the role of infantry at the cemetery gate; 13 grave diggers, honor guard comprising three branches, military band serving the burial ceremony.

- The means serving the Funeral prepared by the Ministry of Defense include: 01 command vehicle; 01 vehicle carrying the national flag, portrait, and medal cushion; 01 vehicle carrying the military flag; 06 vehicles carrying the honor guard formation; 01 flower vehicle; 01 vehicle towing the hearse (at the end of the hearse is a 122 mm howitzer); 01 reserve vehicle; 02 communication vehicles, and 01 ambulance.

- The coffin is draped with the national flag and placed in a glass case on the hearse.

2. Regulations on reporting and publishing information about the State Funeral in Vietnam

Regulations on reporting and publishing information about the State Funeral according to Article 9 Decree 105/2012/ND-CP are as follows:

- Announcing the News

Before the official announcement from the Funeral Organizing Committee, media outlets are only allowed to briefly report on the passing. After the establishment of the Funeral Organizing Committee and the official announcement of the funeral proceedings, the media can then publish the obituary and introduce the deceased person.

- Publishing News on Media

+ Nhan Dan Newspaper and central and local press agencies report on the National Funeral Ceremony, including: announcements, lists of State Funeral Committees, Funeral Organizing Committees; biographies, photos of the deceased; national mourning procedures; announcements about the viewing, funeral procession, burial ceremony, and the State Funeral Committee's gratitude;

+ Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio films the viewing, funeral procession, and burial ceremony. The Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam Television, along with the Vietnam News Agency, provide live coverage of the viewing, funeral procession, and burial ceremony.

3. Regulations on the memorial ceremony in the State Funeral in Vietnam

Regulations on the Memorial Ceremony in the State Funeral according to Article 16 Decree 105/2012/ND-CP are as follows:

- Attendees at the Memorial Ceremony include: the State Funeral Organizing Committee; the Funeral Organizing Committee; family and relatives; representatives from the deceased's agencies, units, and hometown.

- The positions of the delegations attending the Memorial Ceremony

+ The family stands on the left side of the funeral hall (facing the altar);

+ Party and State leaders stand on the right side of the funeral hall (facing the altar);

+ Delegations from ministries, departments, organizations, and other target groups, honor guards and military bands stand according to the arrangement of the Funeral Organizing Committee.

- The Memorial Ceremony Program

+ The head of the Funeral Organizing Committee announces the funeral procession;

+ The national anthem is played by the military band;

+ The head of the State Funeral Committee reads the funeral oration and announces a minute of silence;

+ During the minute of silence, the military band plays "The Soul of a Soldier";

+ The head of the Funeral Organizing Committee announces the end of the funeral procession.

- At the same time as the Memorial Ceremony in the Central Government, local leaders of the hometown or the birthplace of the deceased organize the Memorial Ceremony at the local site.
