1. What is Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control?

Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control is a socio-professional, non-profit organization established for the purpose of gathering and uniting Vietnamese individuals and organizations regardless of origin, gender, ethnicity, religion, political opinion, disability, or age in all fields of work, paying attention to HIV/AIDS prevention and control, and carrying out activities to contribute to minimizing the harmful effects of HIV/AIDS on the socio-economic development of the country.

2. Criteria to be admitted as members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control

Specifically, in Article 8 of the Charter issued together with Decision 435/QD-BNV in 2013, the criteria to be admitted as members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control are as follows:

- Members of the Association, including: official members, associate members, and honorary members (hereinafter referred to as members).

- Official members of the Association, including: Organizational members and individual members:

Organizational members, including: Vietnamese organizations operating in or interested in HIV/AIDS that agree to the principles, purposes, and charter of the Association, voluntarily apply to join the Association, or appoint a representative to join the Association, are considered for admission to the Association after being approved by the Standing Board.

Organizations wishing to become members of the Association must submit an application and dossier according to regulations to the Standing Committee of the Association for consideration.

+ Individual members: Vietnamese citizens who work or are interested in HIV/AIDS prevention and control, agree to the Association's principles, purposes, and Charter, and voluntarily apply to join the Association are considered for admission to the Association.

- Honorary members: Citizens and organizations of Vietnam that are prestigious in society, have made great contributions to the Association, to HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities, and respect the Association's Charter will be considered and recognized by the Association's Standing Committee as honorary members of the Association.

- Affiliate members: Vietnamese citizens and organizations that do not have conditions or do not meet the criteria to become official members of the Association, agree to the Association's Charter, voluntarily apply to join the Association, and be recognized by the Association as associate members.

3. Tasks of members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control

Members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control are responsible for performing the following tasks:

- Respecting the principles, purposes, abide by the Charter, regulations, and resolutions of the Association and the law.

- Solidarity and support with colleagues inside and outside the Association.

- Continuously improving professional knowledge and techniques to contribute to HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities in Vietnam.

- Participating in the Association's activities according to the resolutions issued by the General Meeting or the Executive Board.

- Paying membership fees and other amounts in full and in accordance with regulations.

- Disseminating and propagating the principles and purposes of the Association among the people, developing its members, and mobilizing the people to implement the HIV/AIDS prevention program.

- Protecting the reputation of the Association, do not act on behalf of the Association in transactions that do not come from the interests of the Association. In transactional relations, when on behalf of the Association, the Standing Board must be reported.

Maintaining solidarity and building consensus for the common goal of the organization or unit you are participating in. Do not take advantage of the Association's name to gain personal benefits.

4. Rights and benefits of members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control

The rights and benefits of members of the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control include:

- Members have the right to vote and stand for election to the leading body of the Association. Members are allowed to contribute ideas to build the association and develop the direction and plan of the Association's activities.

- Proposing, voting, and supervising all activities of the Association.

- Participating in activities in HIV/AIDS prevention and control organizations and units under the Association.

- The member's profile is kept and updated annually at the organization where the member directly participates in activities.

- Leaving the Association when it is deemed ineligible to continue participating.

- Receiving professional training, participating in conferences and seminars, and being encouraged and facilitated to promote their abilities in all aspects related to the profession.

- Being sponsored and facilitated by the Association to conduct activities related to HIV/AIDS prevention and control in accordance with the law.

- Having their legitimate interests protected by the Association in accordance with the law.

- Being informed about the status and activities of the Association, as well as the financial affairs of the Association.

- Being rewarded by the Association for actively and effectively participating in the Association's activities.

- Being entitled to other benefits prescribed by the Association.

- Associate members, honorary members, and three subjects (members who are salaried employees of the Association; members who do not pay membership fees for more than 1/2 (half) of the year; members who do work related to the provision of goods, services, and finances of the Association) are entitled to the same rights and obligations as full members, except for the right to vote on matters of the Association and not to elect or stand for election to the Executive Committee or the Inspection Committee.
