Code of conduct for children on social networks in Vietnam

The Code of Conduct for children on social networks as stipulated in Article 5 of the Code of conduct for child protection in the oonline environment, promulgated with Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, is as follows:

- Learn about risks to children in the online environment and undertake measures to ensure safety when participating in online activities via computers, phones, tablets.

- Be careful and alert when participating in activities on the online environment and when searching for information on the Internet.

- Communicate and interact positively and civilly and show respect for others in the online environment; share safely, healthily, and responsibly with friends.

- Seek the advice and consent of parents or caregivers before connecting with strangers in the online environment.

- Share with parents, caregivers, or teachers about personal relationships, difficulties, or troubles encountered in the online environment.

- Courageously report and denounce to authorities noted in clause 6, Article 4 of the Code of Conduct for Protecting Children in the Online Environment, promulgated with Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, when encountering or discovering acts of harm to children, risks to children in the online environment, harmful content for children.

- Do not access, use, or share harmful information or content; do not participate in or imitate negative, nonsensical, useless, unhealthy content online.

- Be careful and responsible when sharing or providing personal information, images, or private life secrets of oneself or anyone else online.

- Do not access links or content from unclear origins, leave, and report when seeing inappropriate content or behavior.

- Do not participate in partisan activities, attacks, impersonations, bullying, or humiliating friends or other children.

Code of conduct for online users with children in Vietnam

The Code of Conduct for online users with children as stipulated in Article 7 of the Code of conduct for child protection in the oonline environment, promulgated with Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, is as follows:

- Comply with laws regarding the protection of children in the online environment; adhere to service provider terms of use.

- Do not share harmful content for children that affects their healthy development. Do not share private life information about children online without the consent of parents, caregivers, and children aged 7 years and older.

- Do not comment or encourage actions that negatively affect the psychology, emotions of children on forums and social networks.

- Do not entice, attract, or persuade children to participate in online activities without the consent of parents or caregivers.

- Report harmful content and child abuse online to VN-COP.

- Share measures to protect children in the online environment, spread programs about child protection online to family and community members.

General Code of conduct for children on social networks in Vietnam

According to Article 4 of the CCode of conduct for child protection in the oonline environment, promulgated with Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, the general code of conduct applies to all groups:

- Comply with Vietnamese laws on protecting children in the online environment; respect the legal rights and interests of children; always prioritize the best interests of children.

- Interact healthily, positively, in line with Vietnamese culture and customs and appropriate to the age of children in the online environment.

- Do not use children's images and personal information without the consent of children, parents, or caregivers according to legal regulations.

- Do not use children's images and personal information for purposes that may jeopardize the safety or healthy development of children.

- Actively cooperate with agencies and community and social organizations to protect children in the online environment.

- When suspecting or discovering acts of child harm, risks to children online, or harmful content for children, immediately and promptly report and denounce to the following contacts:

+ National hotline for child protection (number 111);

+ Nearest police agency;

+ Online Child Protection Network (VN-COP) (https://vn-cop.vn/bao-cao-xam-pham; email: bvte@vncert.vn).
