Fee schedule for the issuance of chip-mounted citizen ID cards in Vietnam

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security has officially announced the citizen identification card with a chip. This card template stores basic information about citizens, with two languages, Vietnamese and English. In this article, the Lawnet shall go into details about the "Fee schedule for the issuance of chip-mounted citizen ID cards in Vietnam."

Fee schedule for the issuance of chip-mounted citizen ID cards in Vietnam

Specifically, according to the provisions of Article 1 of Vietnam's Circular 112/2020/TT-BTC, from January 1, 2021 to the end of June 30, 2021, the fee for the issuance of a citizen identity card (CIDC) will be equal to 50% of the fees specified in Article 4 of Vietnam's Circular 59/2019/TT-BTC dated August 30, 2019 by the Minister of Finance of Vietnam regulating the collection rate, collection, payment, and management of fees for the issuance of citizen identification.

The purpose of reducing CIDC fees is to support and remove difficulties for businesses, and ensure social security to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic.

Thus, the fee for issuing CIDC with a chip from January 1, 2021 to the end of June 30, 2021 is shown as follows:

Re-issuance: When a CIDC card is damaged and unusable; When there are changes in names; identity characteristics; re-determination of gender and hometown;When there is an error in the information on the card; When a citizen requests it, 25,000 VND/card
Re-issuance of CIDC card when losing CIDC card, gaining Vietnamese nationality according to the provisions of the Law on Vietnamese nationality 35,000 VND/card

From July 1, 2021 onwards, the fee for CIDC issuance will be applied according to the provisions of Article 4 of Vietnam's Circular 59/2019/TT-BTC, specifically:
