Year 2020: Increased Height of Adults by 1 - 1.5 cm

This is one of the important objectives mentioned in Decision 718/QD-BYT regarding the approval of the national nutrition action plan until 2020.

To achieve the objective of improving the stature of the Vietnamese people by the year 2020, the target set for the height of adults is to increase by 1.0 – 1.5 cm compared to the year 2010.

At the same time, for children aged 5 years old, the target is to increase height by 1.5 – 2.0 cm compared to the year 2010.

In addition to the above-mentioned goals, the content of the plan also sets out several other objectives, including:

- Improving the nutritional status of mothers and children;- Reducing micronutrient deficiencies among the population;- Controlling overweight and obesity;- Enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the nutrition network in the community and healthcare facilities.
