On December 16, 2021, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 34/2021/TT-BGTVT stipulating the management and operation of vehicle load testing stations on roads.
Accordingly, the principle of operation of vehicle load inspection on roads is conducted openly, objectively and in accordance with the provisions of law.
Vehicle load testing on the road is carried out through:
- Fixed vehicle load testing station has a system of motor vehicle load checking equipment installed on the road, recording equipment and other ancillary equipment;
- The mobile vehicle load testing station has a system of weighing equipment for checking the weight of motor vehicles not permanently installed on the road and other auxiliary equipment;
- Equipment to check the weight of motor vehicles fixed on the road; independent installation location or in combination with toll booths;
- Vehicle weighing device (portable scale) of competent authorities;
- Centralized monitoring and management system of vehicle load data of the transport sector on nationwide road systems managed, operated and exploited by the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam;
- Professional measures of competent forces to sanction administrative violations according to regulations.
Circular 34/2021/TT-BGTVT takes effect from February 15, 2022 and abolishes Circular 10/2012/TT-BGTVT .
