On December 07, 2022, the Government of Vietnam issuedDecree No. 101/2022/NĐ-CP setting requirements for investment and trading in military uniforms, military equipment and supplies for the people's armed forces, military weapons, specialized technical equipment and technology used for production thereof to ensure national defense and security.
In particular, regulations on investment and business principles for military equipment, military weapons, technical equipment, and specialized technology in service of national defense and security in Vietnam are as follows:
- Protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, national security, and social order and safety.
- Strict management, ensuring confidentiality and safety.
- Training, research, production, manufacturing, repair, assembly, and development establishments of military equipment, weapons, technical equipment, and specialized technology under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam may only carry out research, production, manufacturing, repair, assembly, and development activities when assigned tasks or placed under orders by competent authorities specified in Article 10 of Vietnam's Decree 101/2022/ND-CP.
- Complying with the provisions of the law on business lines subject to security and order conditions as prescribed in Decree 96/2016/ND-CP; provisions of the law on environmental protection.
Vietnam's Decree 101/2022/ND-CP takes effect from January 30, 2023.
