Vietnam to study solutions to e-invoices generated from cash registers regarding food services

​On February 23, 2023, the Prime Minister of Vietnam promulgated Directive No. 05/CT-TTg on continuing the acceleration of the scheme for the development of data applications regarding the population, identification, and e-verification for national digital transformation 2022-2025, with a vision toward 2030 at ministries, central authorities, and local authorities in 2023 and the following years.

According to the Directive, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requests the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam to direct the General Department of Taxation of Vietnam to study solutions to e-invoices generated from cash registers regarding food services, preventing loss of tax and budget revenues. The time of completion is in June 2023.

At the same time, study, propose preferential mechanisms for fees and charges in providing online public services, and submit reports to the Government of Vietnam in March 2023.

Additionally, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requests the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam to urgently issue E-Birth Certificates, extract death certificates on the Registration System, and manage e-civil status. The time of completion is in June 2023.
