Vietnam: To streamline certain inspection agencies in the People's Public Security from May 20, 2021

The government of Vietnam issued Decree 25/2021/ND-CP dated 24/3/2021 amending Decree 41/2014/ND- CP dated May 13, 2014 on the organization and operation of inspectors of the People's Public Security.

According to the Decree, the system of state inspection agencies in the People's Police of Vietnam includes:

- Inspectors of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam(hereinafter referred to as the "Inspectors of the Ministry");

- Inspectors of Public Security of provinces and municipalities in Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as "Inspectors of Provincial Public Security");

- Inspectors of the Police Department in charge of prisons, compulsory education institutions, and reformatories (new regulations).

Thus, according to the new regulations, a number of state inspection agencies in the People's Public Security have been streamlined, including:

- Inspectors of the General Department;

- Inspectors of the Command;

- Inspectors of fire prevention and fighting police of provinces and centrally run cities;

- Inspectors of police of districts, towns, and provincial cities.
