Vietnam: to simplify the opening ceremony of the 2022–2023 school year

This is the content of Official Dispatch 4185/BGDĐT-VP dated August 29, 2022, on the implementation of some activities at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year in Vietnam.

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 4185/BDDT-VP, to prepare for the new school year 2022-2023, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam proposed that the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of the provinces and cities implement a number of activities at the beginning of the school year, for example:

- Direct educational institutions to strictly implement the regulations on the time for students to return to school and organize the uniform opening ceremony of the 2022–2023 school year across Vietnam on the morning of September 5, 2022.

- Simplify the opening ceremony which is suitable to the conditions of the locality and the school, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the opening day - National back to school day.

- Ensure sufficient textbooks are provided to students, and there is no shortage of textbooks at the beginning of the school year.

- Direct educational institutions to implement solutions to ensure school security and safety, with attention to proactive solutions to prevent, combat, and effectively respond to natural disasters, COVID-19, and other epidemics or diseases.

- Review and supplement teaching equipment, utensils, toys; repair and upgrade schools and classrooms; Prioritize investment in facilities and teaching equipment at least to ensure the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.

- Guide educational institutions to strictly comply with regulations on financial revenue and expenditure management and publicize revenues and expenditures at the beginning of the school year in Vietnam.
