Vietnam to prioritize the grant of credit to safe food production households

This is the content of Directive 17-CT/TW on the increase of food safety and security assurance in the new normal promulgated by the CPV Central Committee on October 21, 2022.

According to the Directive, to ensure food safety and security in the new normal, the Secretariat requests the implementation of the following contents:

The Vietnam Bank for Social Policies and Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development shall prioritize the grant of credit to safe food production households, especially poor households and policy beneficiaries.

Construction of safe and quality food supply value chains; prioritization of the development of areas of specialized cultivation and clean and safe agricultural production.

Food safety control at the input factor in production and business; connection with safe food supply value chains according to international standards and regulations, ensuring that people can access and use safe and sustainable food.

Investment in the upgrade of industrial infrastructure, service infrastructure, the establishment of the network of logistics, preservation, processing, and e-commerce in rural areas.

Promotion of the role of collectives and associations of goods in connecting and providing support for the production, preservation, processing, and consumption of safe and quality food.

Improvement of the capacity for study, application, and transfer of technology - science, especially high technology, biotechnology, and environmentally friendly technology in agricultural production and food processing.

Provision of encouragement and support for households, collectives, and enterprises engaging in the production and business of food that apply high technology and connection with safe food supply value chains.

Increase of international cooperation in ensuring food safety and security, especially with neighbor countries.
