Vietnam: To continue foreign language skill training for public officials and education officials

Below is featured content specified in Official Letter 955/BGDDT-DANN elaborating the key tasks in 2022 of the National Foreign Language Scheme(Scheme) and propose the action plan at the unit.

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 955/BGDT-DANN, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has guided a number of key tasks in 2022 of the Scheme, for example:

- Developing a contingent of foreign language teachers and lecturers, including:

Recruiting a sufficient number of teachers, foreign language lecturers, and lecturers teaching specialized and professional languages in foreign languages to meet the requirements of implementing foreign language teaching and learning in the academic year 2022–2023 and subsequent years, especially for foreign language teachers who meet the requirements of implementing the General Education Program 2018;
Training to improve foreign language and pedagogical capacity for foreign language teachers and lecturers; for teachers and lecturers teaching other subjects and specialized subjects in foreign languages.

- Foreign language training for civil servants and public employees (excluding foreign language teachers and lecturers): continuing to organize training courses on foreign language skills for the staff, civil servants and public employees to meet job requirements and job positions.
