Dispatch 3175/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated July 21, 2022 stipulates the innovation in teaching methods and testing and assessment of Literature in Vietnamese high school.

According to the Official Dispatch, in order to innovate the way of assessing students in literature subjects, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam requests the following:

 - In assessing the learning results at the end of the semester and at the end of the school year in Vietnam, to avoid reusing the texts learned in the textbooks as materials for building reading and writing tests to accurately assess students' ability, overcome the situation that students only memorize lessons or copy existing document content.

 - The assessment of students in the subject of literature should ensure the principle of promoting the positive aspects of personality, imagination, literacy, language ability, and the student's visual and logical thinking in Vietnam.

 - Focus on designing and using questions and exercises that require students to apply learned knowledge and all skills in new contexts and materials; provide opportunities for students to discover new knowledge; propose ideas and create new products; evoke associations, imagine, mobilize living capital in the process of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

 - Encourage the development and use of open-ended questions in testing and assessment to maximize students' creativity.

Build a set of assessment tools to limit the subjectivity and emotionality of the assessors.

When commenting and evaluating students' products, it is necessary to respect and encourage students' own ways of thinking and feeling on the principle of not violating ethical, cultural, and legal standards in Vietnam.
